how drastic of am impact would this have on my poision ability? As a ch i could pve, but how gimped would the pvp be?

In 1v1 it wouldn't be too bad. If your facing other groups you would lack the area poisons (area diseases don't even work so don't bother making any)

well even if i poision area a group with b wouldnt it still kill them? maybe not as fast, but eventually?

IMO it can be done but with out the best in all components to craft those area posions A/Bs you will get resisted more then you will get them to stick in PvP. The difference between my area posion B's and my C's was bout(not exact) 35-40 points of potiency using the same materials on each. The single C's should work fine with out MCM.

I'm assuming you're taking Scout (4040) and CH (4400).

Instead do Scout (4041) and CH (3400). You still have a max pet of CL45 (4400 isn't better than 3400), and now you have Forage. When the pet says he's hungry (has a lot of wounds) push Forage and hand him a snack, and his wounds are gone. Myself, I wouldn't even do 3400 though. I'd go for2211 (34 points, CL35 pet, and you can teach it Trick1 & Group yourself). You don't have forage this way, but that's a really solid CH base, too.

I'm doing a template like this actually:

Marksman 0304, Medic 4444M, Scout 4041, Combat Medic 4044, Creature Handler 3411

If you don't have Empathy 1 and Management 1, you can't get Trick1 and Group without the pet having Transfer, meaning you can't catch it yourself.
