I'm thinking of making a CM they seem fun from what I hear and I am just wondering what race is good for them.

General consensus is Zabrak.

but, In the end it doesn't realy mater...your Still Going to Rock. Just get into the game and play, Actual play experience will teach you more then anyone else can on these forums. My Starting suggestions for ANYONE :

1* Create a Zabraka Char withartisan (for the free crafting and survey tools)

2* Migrate Your stats to 1000/350/350 1000/350/350 1000/300/700 (i think) - Its a Solid Starting point.

3* Pick Theed or Cornet as your starting City

4*Go to themedicTrainer, Buy novice

5* Go to the Marksmen Trainer, Buy novice

6*Accept two Gnort Missions in the same direction, Complete them.

7* Return to Town, Locate the Scout trainer andBuy novice scout.

8* Have Fun in the Game, This is the best start i canlay out for anyone - Survey inorganics with Artisan, Kill animals with marksmen, harvest the dead with scout, Make meds and Stay alive with medic...your all set For anyPath ya Want in the game

id drop the H and A stats to somewhere around 800 to start...thats not low enough to be a concern and gives you another 400 pts to drop into focus...cause at 300 you're going to eat thru that 1k M like nothing. i forget what the max is on a zabrak's focus but you'll want that high.

it also depends on play style...my Twi'lek CM (started as apistoleer/ch and converted) has 700/550/450 800/600/400 900/500/500 i went to max the important secondary skills... others ive seen have maxed their HAM pools and regen pools. others have maxed HAM and USE pools...so its ultimately upto how you play in the game

Everyone says pistol is the best way to go with CM, but I already have 2 characters using pistol. I certainly dont want a 3rd pistol user.

Seems like I have no choice if I go CM?

well, pistol is good for cm because of the ranges you are dealing with...if youre healing a melee thats in the face of the mob, MAYBE carbine would work, but pistol range makes more sense. Rifle eats mind too much to be usable with cm which of course also eats mind. High focus is also a must. Gotta keep the cost of your heals way down.

limited CH is also another possibility to add to CM for more flexibility. keep that in mind

Those are just My starting suggestions...For Anyone...Combat medic, Bountyhunter, Commando, Creature handler, Squad leader....you name it. Its justa Very solid base for people who are just learning to play the game and leaves quite a bit of room for error. If ya look atDromare's post history, you'll notice he is new (not a bad thing) and has also been looking at BH, Commando, and CH....I just wanted to recomand what i would do if i could do it over again...I was looking at the same classes, more or less, and couldn't decide either

My personal stats are 900/ 300/ 300 900/ 300/ 300 1000/ 700/ 900, But i'm already a CM andwell established in the gamewith doc buffs, spices, and armor MyMind migration might not be all that great for a new charicter...i could be wrong tho

hmmm...true...dunno..i guess i just assumed that once you know what you want to start as you go to the strengths of that class. I also looked in the Prima guide to see what the stats would be if you let it do it for starting classes to help me when i first started...and when the book says that a mon-cal makes a good medic due to high mind... then one would assume that mind is important to any medic prof and by extension the secondary pools...

but i agree something basic like that would be better for a first char...but one would hope if you have a decent lvl char you have a decent grasp of how the stats work with your skills...and just ask/look to see what the main draw pools for the profession you're interested inand go from there.

but in the end he did ask for just an opinion
