I love how my template has turned out and CM is not a disappointment in anyway. Kudos to the profession advocate for his/her work.
Right now im a Master Carbineer/Master CM with 0004 Pistoleer. The abilites of 2 roots, 2 snares, 2 knockdowns (1 ranged) just makes you a frickin god at kiting. The healing in combination with the Dot's and debuffs really supports a ranged template by giving you that added deadly ability as enemies approach. The closer they get the more lethal you become and the more there power starts to wain.

Three snares minimum from MCM and MCarbs: Electrolyte Drain, Crippling Shot, and then spammed Suppression Fire. Don't know if Pistols have a snare that is available to you because I've never used Pistols.

i have been a CM since the day my alt was created. i love playing the support role of my crew. it is the coolest

I definietly would have to say Combat Medic is probably one of the funnest non-jedi professions in the game...
Bounty Hunter - great pvp content, fun if you like to hunt
Combat Medic - DoTs, Healing, Attacker Control... just fun to play around with your opponent and who wouldnt want to chuck fire at people 
I could really see smuggler being a fun profession once they get their revamp... and maybe even ranger!
Pilot is also a fun profession!

Once everything is over and done with, i think the players will lean toward Bounty Hunting, Smuggling, or Jedi.... and CM will be a fun support role for all three (not so much for Jedi, but at low lvl maybe)
