Thread: battle armor hinderence question if dropping some CM
I piece or a full suit, it doesn't matter. You will have encumberance, based on what amount you can't mitigate. You would think that it would be higher for a whole suit then just one single piece, but that's not how the system works. /shrug.
As an Armorsmith alt, we've noticed there's some fishy stuff that goes on when mixing types of armor (battle and recon for example). There hasn't been a lot of testing and no one has been able to put their finger on it per se, but it seems to have an overall negative effect on the suits resists (almost like it defaults the whole armor to the lowest resist). Not sure but be wary.

hmmm thanks for the reply. typical SOE. one piece is as bad as a suit huh. sheesh. and no mixing and matching.
well i just might need to bight the bullet and destroy that armor.
do you think the "fishy stuff" happenes with unmatched gloves and boots that have no resists anyway?
No, the boots and gloves won't matter. It's more tied into how certain shots (body, head, etc) are mitigated to which piece of armor and if the resist is figured from that single peice of armor or the suit as a whole. Since boots and gloves aren't targetable, the don't effect the "fishy" stuff!
alternatively you could try a mbh / mcm and rifle dabbling template . either 4 0 0 0 rifleman for accuracy and improved headshot or 0 0 0 4 rifleman for the extra riflespeed . if you have the money to buy some speed and accuracy tapes ( rifleman or general ranged ) then the template becomes even more effective . due to the diminishing returns formula the accuracy and speed of a master rifleman / mbh doesnt have a great deal of benefit over a mbh / rifleman dabbler . by dropping down to 4 0 0 0 combat medic you will give up paralyse , thyroid rupture , electrolyte drain , action and mind regen debbufs and fire / poison . furthermore there is a good chance that in the future the healing ability of a 4 0 0 0 combat medicmight be substantially reduced compared to a mcm .
