Every fight I'm in, be it a fun duel, or against any creature I start off with KD/Armour Break/Electrodrain/Shock/Thyroid....... it makes grinding for you, and everyone around you a hell of alot faster
Any reason why you do the KD/Armor Break first instead of a Paralyze?
In group PVP you are limited due to the range of your states. In group PVP I try to saty back with a rifle and do what damage I can while healing and res'ing players. If there are Jedi on the opposing side causing problems you can get in put a few states on them and move out but it can be tough. All in all with pistols you can use your root in group pvp and call your targets.
My dots usually land around 240 to 260 I can stack them near 300. I have found my dots do better if I kd my target then apply dots.
One on One PVP MCM is very good fi you play it correctly. I usually paralyze apply all my states, andmy snarethen KD and stack the dots. AT this point I either kite or stay close depending upon the target. I just need to stay alive until the mind or the action run down on the target. After that occurs I root and start pounding.... I toook a full template Jedi last night using this method.
Your best bet is to run your target out of mind if they are a healer. And action of they are a weapon person. This has worked very well for me.

Heyas. I just mastered Combat medic (The hard way, not through a respec) and I cant think of how to use it other than as a glorified medic with rez abilitiy. My fires do zilch damage even with enhancers (I use 1002 power enhancers,m and I do 200 points of damage per tick in PvE and PvP) and none of my attacks hit all the time, only maybe 1/2 to 2/3 the time, even with master. And my most effective moves are all melee range (3 meters or less, all the state effects like thyroid rupture, paralyze, and such).
So, I ask anyone that can tell me, how do I use CM in PvE other than as a glorified healer? And is my experience with damage and sticking DOT's normal?
BTW, for those that will inevitably ask, my template is
Master Combat medic
Master pistoleer
0004 Bounty hunter (For the defence mods and bleed shot)
Scout 4000
Medic 0410
PvE use is limited due to the fact that the Dev's forgot to put in any serious SAC on npc specials. The only thing besides healing you'll be doing is applying thyroid rupture and maybe shock. Thyroid by itself is an absolute must for high content PvE where the npc's are laying down serious damage. Shock is icing on the cake as states like dizzy, blind, and stun all decrease damage output from your opponents. DoT's help with damage against high HAM npc's but aren't always practical. Still an extra 2k damage from the entire fight is better than nothing. And of course paralyze for those multiple encounters where 15sec of not being bothered by the other npc is a major help.
Your template has eyeshot so you might benefit from using shock or you can just spam eyeshot till the blind lands. Additionally, even at master DoT's dont always stick right away. The cure for that is shock or to get hold of some medical warfare efficiency tapes. I'm capped at +25 and even I get a "miss" every once in a while. Its all very situational to tell the true and more practice will help you understand your CM skills and where to apply them.
Im not a PvPer, might be soon, but not yet.

Blarg. So I need to run into melee range of everything, apply my state effects, then run back to my group before they all get killed and heal them. Wonderful. What idiot thought up the three meter range for CM state effects?
LOL. i used to be able to throw my stuff from 48m due to ranged tapes and what not. i think that so stupid that its funny
Why is it funny? Forgive my "Stupidity" here, but I dont see how making it so I have to be vulnerable to every attack in the game and its cousin makes me stupid? I remember the days when a Combat medic Could throw 80 meters, through walls, and hit an entire base full of people. Dont tell me they couldnt either, cause I was there, and its part of the reason I never, ever PVP.
BTW, I can see how CM can be useful on high end mobs. I was on the corellian corvette last night, and a Rebel commodore aggro'd me, and I dropped all my states on him, and suddenly he was not doing me any damage, all I had to worry about was being knocked down. I was able to whittle him down to 1/3 health before the rest of the group arrived. ![]()
