i am tkm/mcm and i have beaten several mdoc/mpikes or swords etc without too much trouble in friendly duels.

Depends on your play style and what you want to do in game.

MS/MDoc is a better PvE tank than a MS/MCM, and you can use the extra 15 points to further improve your defenses or gain other skills. The healing power of Doc is greater than CM and will allow you last longer, and get more swings out of your powerhammer in a shorter time period.

the key to winning as a melee/mcm is doing damage to your opponent while they are knocked down, and unable to kd recover because they lack the mind or action to do so. while this sounds good initially, mostly because swords way outdamages tkm, it sounds less good with the great lunge nerf of '05 which took swords only KD away.

However a pikeman does have a kd, and deals more damage then a tkm, so it would probably be better then a MS/MCM, and may compare well with a tkm/mcm, however, i've never played or fought with one, so this is just me rambling on.

but to answer your question, i would think that ms/mcm would be better then ms/md. but i'm biased towards mcm, and there are probably many mdocs out there that would disagree, and they may have a more valid point with the bacta shot nerf.
