Thread: Lets get down to the nitty gritty of the overpowered CM issue
Its not dots...
its mind damage pure and simple...
now I know this...you know this but the majority of the people in game do not...
they have no idea what CMs can do or have to do to make poisons...
they dont know that H and A poison are perfectly in line in terms of DPS with other combat classes...
but the issue is that we do the largest chunks of mind damage in the game. ONly the BH can compare with us in terms of mind damage DPS. Not even rifleman hit as hard and as fast as CMs can with mind damage...
BTW i would totally say that BH eyeshot is overpowered...
the fact of the matter anyone that can do large amounts of damage to the mind pool either very quickly(BH) or with relative ease (CM and non-LOS) is going to be extremely powerful in PvP...
the fact is this issue isnt new...my mind dots were doing about the same damage (a little less) pre-patch. But pre-patch, my measly mind damage was nothing compared to the the huge amounts of damage that was going on pre patch. Now that everyone else has been toned down and we havent, we certainly have a unbalancing ability to attack the major flaw with the pvp system and thats unhealable mind damage...
Honestly do you think if the current system of PvP remains that most people wont migrate from their classes to CM or BH? Do you really want a game where its all CMs chucking mind poisons from behind buildings or BHs KDing then spamming eyeshot?
Fact is that something needs to be done with mind damage...
All this patch did was expose the problem that has laid at the base of this games since it was developed...mind damage and its complete exploitabilty.
And rest assured if as a class we dont come up with a system to address this imbalance, we will be nerfed when al lthe other classes really figure it out...and SOE will run our class. Just ask CHs...
so we can either try and resolve this imbalance ourselves or just let SOE knock the class into the cellar...
The CM is only overpowered because of one ability and thats the ability to inflict mind damage and range without LOS. The other 2 poisons are well in line with the rest of the damage.
