Hi all. Im a fledgling Combat medic 2/2/1/2 nearing 3/2/2/2. I was wondering when I would actually feel more effective? I notice Docs seem to have alot of healing/buffing power. Ranged stims seem weak. Are AoE heals any good? And when is a good time to start working on Poisons? Gah so many questions.
Ok, to answer your questions point by point.
1) when would I actually feel more effective?
-I would concentrate on the support line first rather than the distance line (as it appears you have done). The higher your support skill, the higher the meds you can use. You'll feel many times more powerful when you can start using the higher end ranged and AoE heals.
2) AoE heals any good?
-They rock so hard. I *heart* my area C heals. It's nice to fire off one heal and hit everyone in your group. Saves your mind pool and your sanity. Plus, you heal yourself at the same time. Bonus.
3) When is a good time to work on poisons?
-Really the best poisons are the ones you get with being a Master CM. I started making poisons when I could make/use B's. But that was my own personal choice. There is a HUGE difference in the effectiveness of a B versus a C. If you just want to toss a poison for the sake of tossing one, start with B's. If you want something that is truly going to have an effect, wait until you can do C's.
AoE B's are pretty good. 400+ base heal using advanced components. Awesome for grouping with hunting parties. C's are even better....
You definetly have to go up the Support line FIRST, at least until the 3rd box so you can start using RangedC's and AoE B's
