Thread: Are you having fun anymore?
I used to look forward to going out in hunting groups and getting some good experience healing pets. Now that that is nerfed, what is there to look forward to when going out in groups. After all everyone and their dog has a pet now. Why take that away from us.
Why didn’t they just reduce the XP. I feel that they should have just left pet healing alone in the first place.
I was in the CH forum and the Dev posted a large post about all the positive things that they were working on for CHs. I have not seen that kind of correspondence with other professions.

I made 90% of my CM xp and Doctor xp from Fort Tuskin and Lok. The Fortis about the best place for it. As for hunting and other planets in general Lok and Dantooineare goodplaces and you don't need pets. Myself a CM/Doctor/Pistoleer and 5 other players, 2 TKA and3 shooters did great with no pets to tank for us and I still get great Xp, granted I am maxed out on medic Xp and don't need any more.
In my opinion I think it is good that pets are being scaled down as they are. This is Star Wars not pet wars.
i never healed pets anyways. i got all my med xp from other players.
i think pets should only be healable by pet stims. give BE and Medics the ability to craft pet stims.
Its difficult after you cap out after master combat medic at 80k xp. What is there to strive for after you max out at med xp? There needs to be something else afterwards, maybe certain extra skills you get at certain amounts of med xp after the 80k cap.
Some sort of combat healing xp would be great. After you max out its sort've boring, xp shouldn't be capped...

I agree 100%, so why can everyone have a pet. I am a CH, and When I hunt with my non CHfriends, we all have pets. No one ever takes damage any more. Just the pets. So I can heal there action but that's about it for XP. I can do better sitting in the Cantina doing that.
I agree the Pet Thing needed to be addressed, but the way they did it was wrong.
Hang in there bud. I quit this class once already. And, I came back.
Pet xp was good, but not a big deal. If you need medical xp, duel your buddyy and then both quit once someone is near or incapped. Wait a little bit and heal each other. As easy as pet xp, but I still think cantinas are easier.
If you can make aoe stims, make some and go make the entertainers happy in your local cantina. Medical xp is the easiest to make in this game, so the pet nerf really didn't hurt much.
And have fun!
This just goes to show how so many people relied on pets. If you want to heal pets, go become a Bio-engineer. It would seem that this is what the Devs have intended for pets. Healingthem was a plus before but it's not like we are on life support without them.
To make this a little bit more fair though, it should be that you do not gain medical xp from healing YOUR own pets but you should get them from healing OTHER people's pets. This should stop most people from soloing most of their time.
Even without pets you can easily get 30k-40k with a 3-4 member grp. As for fun - that is what you make of it.
I'm a combat medic... I am so sick grouping with people who have a bunch of pets...
Here is what happens...
I spend a lot of time and credits making stimps, etc... at my house in naboo... I spend 700 credits to go to Corellia, then another 2400 credits to get to Dathomir...
I find a group to get med xp and have fun... we go out... they pull their pets we fight like mad... then I start getting yelled at because I don't want to use my expensive medical supplies to heal their dumb pets...
I don't get anything for healing pets... no credits, no xp, nothing... I didn't spend all my time and money to craft a bunch of supplies andtravel a long distance so I can heal pets for free... especially pets with 11k HAM... The way I see it... If you have a pet, YOU are responsible for it.. your own discretion, your own risk...
Quit harrassing the medic types... Go get some med skills yourself and heal your own pets at your own cost. I know some people will have the arguement that they think their pets save the lives of everyone in the group... Like I said, I'm a combat medic... If I get aggroed, I can heal myself enough to get a good /burst to shake the aggro... Without me, you may die. What good are your pets anyway when they stand around all dumbfounded as you wake up in a cloning center unable to issue them new attack commands?
If they wouldn't have nerfed the ability to gain anything from healing pets, I would throw a heal or two their way...
The bottom line is... I'm a combat medic, I heal injured people.... I'mnot a veterinarian...
Maybe SOE should make a new subclass for medics to cover pets...
As a medic the critter healing change did hurt as I found like many others when I grouped the pets where used a tanks while everyone else shot from afar. With big organised groups I found I was doing no more than healing action points from special attacks and then getting the job of healing the pets when moving onto the next target. Yes the experience is still there though - admittadley slower and I guess thats what this was all about. I stull run in groups and if its hunting doing missions I happily heal the pets as well most the groups I been in have been pretty good about it though.
Some of the stuff I have read about the reasoning for this change ranges from the medics level to quickly to the exploitablility of healing your own pet. Far enough the last reason why not just make it like healing yourself - no experience for others though a little recompence would have beeen nice. If we as medics where not supposed to ehal pets and it was the realm of the BE why make make it that only BE's can heal pets ? Yes problems with haveing to get two elite professions I guess even if you only needed novice BE. Better still give the BE's the ability to make the Stims and the CH the ability to use them themselves but make it a high up skill that they must earn....
Any just my ramblings on a subject that will long be talked about by old Doctors and Combat medics around campfire on cold evenings, tales of the good old days when experience was easier to come by.
