Thread: Poison/Disease/Bleed PvP Duration...your thoughts
To all,
Given the recent change introducing grace periods for poison damage, poisons now have an added griefing potential in PvP (you can't get a 3 in 10 mercy killing anymore).
A question I've had for some time, and even hinted to it in a couple posts, is that I don't understand why our DOTS and bleeds are so long. We will have killed someone within a min if using mind (which yes is it's own problem)...I don't see why we need things 15+ min in duration. I'm not really wanting to see our class knocked down (lord knows we need plenty fixed), but the grief/sideline potential on all DOTs are huge..primarily because of their duration (though the potency of flamethrower wounds are being addressed elsewhere).
As such, I'd like to hear everyone else's thoughts on say a 75% duration cut to all poison/disease/bleeds in PvP. We'd still get our incaps IMO, but we just reduce our ability to sideline, which is one of the prime causes of people screaming nerf at us in the first place I think.
Thoughts? What I'd love is to offer this up in exchange forsubstantial increase in our potency in PvE.

im my own personal opinion it doesn't matter wether a mind DoT deals 100 or 700 per tick, eventually it will get the job done... that will however diminish our group pvp potential, heck we can't stop people from dying most of the time anyways seeing as they get incapped on mind anyways...
when i chose the CM profession i wanted to contribute to my group by being a MEDIC foremost and healing, i didn't even know about the uberness of DoTs and the griefing tool that is disease... give me a way to heal mind and take away all of my offensive potential, i'd be more than happy...
pve our offensive tools just plain stink as is... let them stink in pve as well! but give me a way to really support my group in COMBAT (it's combat medic after all), not just heal ham costs, pets, the odd stopping shot that hit health or action and heal up wounds taken from a flamethrower (docs do that 5 times better than me anyways)
