Thread: lol listen.. poisons+pvp
I totally agree with you. You hear to much whining on the boards about people who were diseased while incapped or poisoned, followed by their long winded story of their ordeal and how they had to sit around for 30 minutes trying to heal. You can't expect people to downplay their characters and you certainly can't pass judgement on someone who uses their character's most powerful weapons in battle. War is War.
Pvp has nothing to do with being a good sport. It has everything to do with turning every advantage you have into a devastating blow to the enemy. If that means incapping and diseasing without using deathblow then so be it. Our class was designed specifically for the purpose of wounding the enemy and taking them out of battle. If you're a novice going up against someone in an elite class expect to have a hard time winning. Choose your battles wisely.
That's just my thoughts on the matter.

ran into a situation earlier today when someone started crying about diseases. I'm in theed with my pa, fighting some rebs, they're using the cloning facility revenge tef over and over(im not knocking them for it, i do it too). So how do ya fix this? you leave them incapped. anyways some covert reb runs up and heals one of them who i've been keeping incapped so i lead with a willpower disease and chase her through town stacking diseases. I then poisoned her and incapped her. of course i got the "you @$$hole tell . so i kept an eye on her and incapped her when she started getting up, then the rest of the profanity started coming in. just did /addignore and let her run off. Results, i chased off another potential enemy and kept her out of my pa's hair. Some people will always whine about us because they dont have a defense. if you dont want to get diseased or poisoned, then stay the heck out of the fight and dont whine about it if you decide to jump in.
I didnt cry and moan when i was laying in the AH cloning facility perma incapped for 20 minutes on our recent raid there. heck, the rebels did the smartest thing they could by keeping me down like that til i was finally rescued.

Ok....Now While i Agree with the tactical advantage it grants.....I Don't realy agree with stacking Every disease you have on them....thats just going over board. Especialy When many Doctors Get very Pushy About getingOverly compensated for using Wounpack D&E's(and won't use anything else).....The Kind of wounding you discribed easily Put somone down 5-10k And/Orout for over an hour.
Personaly I Would just Toss a single Disease and the DB after its done its work. That will put them in theMed center orCantinaLong enough for the TEF to wear off.
Hrmmm....It Cut me off mid sentance.....heh....
I Do Agree sometimes People get overly pissed of because you catch them off guard or whatever...I know i tend to get iritated when 3 commando's Camp my body for 20 mins Just for the purpose of Hammering all my stats when it is the only first timewe engaged. That Just happens...I've come to the conclusion that they are gonna get pissed of no matter how they die ![]()
Ohh and about Getting Perma Incaped for 20 mins, you can always /quit out of the game then Come back. You won't Have the benifit of a revenge TEF, but you can usualy just run out and find somone to healand get back into it, I Like Healing the Monstorous CH pets![]()

people dont usually get mad just because you put a mind poison on them. It is overpowered but thats not what makes them mad. People get mad when you you and run back repeatedly and poison just for the hell of incapping people and making them mad. There is no honor in that and why even do it if your not going to get faction points.
Most People will Cop the "To Keep them out of the fight" defense...And its True sometimes, However there are more effective ways(Especialy for us)...But 90% of the time it happens its just for cheap Thrils at somone elses expense
Everyone get's upset when they die. It sucks. But **edit** happens. Camping bodies imo is BS. I've never camped bodies. I WILL end the fight with disease if people start being jerks and continue to revenge tef or they start cussing me out. I've been called a number of names for throwing poisons (note: this is even when they are winning), and they continue to attack me when all I'm trying to do is get out of town now and lick my wounds. My responce (specially if you start calling me names) let you kill me.... come out throw disease let you kill me, game over. Again I will reiterate. Poisons and disease are part of our weapons. No, they are not over powered. I've done tests when I was a master pistoleer (gave that up to go doc) but when i had it i was able to kill you faster with health damage + bleed (this includes enemies healing) than my Mind poison made you go incap. My other point, everyone will whine and moan that "this weapon and that weapon" is too uber when they die to it. It's result of the "mentality" that only they should win and be uber.
That is completely right. We are CM's and just know this... A CM has chemical bombs. If you don't like the mind bombs, then raise your mind up. I think this thread needs to be on the combat classes board though. I love the mind bombs, and as I am maxed on xp, I love to drop area ones and watch everybody scramble. hahaha.. Hey can someone clear up a question of mine. I wonder if it is worth it to toss several poisons of same type on a target? I don't seem to see a difference in damage, cept if you throw an area and a local bomb.
I get tells all the time, people complaining saying how they're gonna report me for using poisons and diseases and I'm like **edit**, I don't report you for using your flamethrower. Non CMs don't understand that poisons and diseases are our form of gun. I also hate when they complain that after they incap and db me the poisons and diseases still do damage. In all seriousness, if I walk up to you and disease you and you kill me does the disease stop, no, it keeps on ticking till it runs it's course or is cured.
Non CMs will never understand our class till they actuly try it, see how difficult it is to make those uber C poisons and diseases, see how bugged our schematics are, and realizehow gimped we are at pve. Maybe then they'll have more respect for us, probably not but a possability.
Jedi, the problem right now is when battles are close to the cloning center, when an enemy gets hit with a disease, and they're smart they will banzai charge to be killed in the hopes of being DBed which clears the disease and poison. And if they had cloned there previously, viola, no wounds to worry about of consequence since disease takes too long to tick right now. So you are left with few options.
1 continue to poison then DB them, until you run out of mind and they kill you.
2 toss enough diseases and peace out, taking a beating in the hopes you can get enough of their regen stats so that it will take more than 10 minutes for them to incap 3 times and not die. This keeps them down and out of the fight indefinitly. it saves on your mind, which is reserved for the CMs secondary role of healing, and may convince that particular player to give up and head home when he does die. The fellow I had kept pinned down, had respawned at the cloning center and used the revenge tef on my group probably 30 or more times. It gets real old killing the same guy over and over and over. That person that healed him one time when i wasnt watching carefully, and i turned on her, she never came back to the fight. she got the hint.
99% of the time when i pvp i'm in a group and Im responsible for keeping them alive also, I cant keep worrying about a revenge tefer coming back over and over when I have a responsibilty to my group as well.
Yep its a dirty tactic, but until the revenge tef is fixed I see no other option. If you have an alternative to the clone wars(lol no pun intended) i'm all ears.
oh and the /logout and coming back, that wouldnt be sportsmanlike to the rebels who did it to me hehe. Gave my PA experience in a rescue and the rebels something to laugh at as i'm stuck half in and half out of the cloning center. They walked all over me ( pun intended) ![]()
I have a question. I just made master cm a couple of days ago and I'm finally able to start using some of the high level posions and diseases. Now, I'm wondering if this is a viable tactic: Throw a disease on a guy right at the start of the battle. Stay away from him while the disease begins to take effect. Once he's got a bunch of wounds, kill and db him. When he clones, he'll have a bunch of wounds and the disease will be gone right? Cause if that's the case, it seems like a pretty honorable way to use disease to keep someone out of the fight.
