Is Area Disease fixed ?

It's not fixed as correctly pointed out, but I'd like to throw one more thought in here as devil's advocate and hope we as a group can be constructive/objective.

How much do we really need/want AOE disease given current PvP rules? We've already got some CMs diseasingcorpses for griefing. The new grace period on poisons has increased our griefing potential and potential animosity towards our class.

AOE Diseases will bring a wave of nerf/anti-cm responses that will dwarf the commando flamethrower backlash. It will be, because we throw AOE, not just a cone. It will be because we have 3x the range of a commando and a faster firing time. It will be because we can, if we want, target secondaries which most medics don't keep heavy supplies of wound packs for. AOE diseases give the potential for us to become the griefing class that eclipses all others.

I'm not sure that the constructive benefit to AOE disease outweighs the cost. And I'm not sure we as a class are not doing more harm than good in the long run upon ourselves by asking for this to be fixed.

Given current PvP rules we need them VERY much.
That's the only way other then commando flames to make people stop attacking you with revenge TEG for extended period of time.

I do believe that SOE has posted that they'll likely take away the DOT from flamethrowers in a pending update. I believe the thread you will find it in is the Combat Proposals (Sept 18).

Now, having said that, is the answer to Commando grief potential really to make our class a better griefer?

And are there really that many commandoes running in packs that we need AOE diseases to do it?

Is it really not that fathomable to realize that if they were here we'd replace commandoes as the serial griefers that exploit revenge tef to keep coming back and sideline entire towns?

I just don't get why we need this.

My apologies, i misread the intent of your post. Yes both we and commandoes can do it.

But the question is should we?

This is a problem not even really of Revenge TEF but of the no cost to death. We and commandoes are simply the best classes to leverage that for sidelining abilities.

The notion that we as a class are the anti-grief police is interesting (it's the only thing i will use diseases for in PvP) but I think non-cohesive, as there are serial TEF jihad suicide bombing Master CMs on my server who happily engage in lather rinse and repeat.

Giving our class area diseases isn't going to push them away...it's going to make them an order of magnitude worse.

Again my apologies for not reading your sentence closely enough.

lol...it would get them to look at our class for once tho...even if it is for a nerfing. altho at the moment you also have to consider you really cant dabble in CM to use the effective Poison/diseases...so these nice DoT AE Diseases mean that ppl will actually have to invest a lot of skill points in. whereas witha commando you just need 1-2 skill leves in flamethrower and you can burn ppl to death (and worse).

But considering hte resource cost, credit cost, skill/xp cost, and HAM costto use these packs i hope they dont nerf them.

I think the real problem is ignorance about the CM profession .... since CM has never been a FotMthe majority of the ppl in SWG are unaware as too what it actually takes to maintain a viable CM.
