I am currently grinding my way up the CM tree, and curious what types of poisonsand diseases and in which order you higher level CMs throw. Do you also base your poison/disease on the types of mobs you fight and also if oyu engange in pvp?

Thanks for your responses!

I am a pistol user and in PvE situations (and as a Master CM), I usually throw Area Health Cs and single target Cs. In PvP situations, I usually throw Area Mind poison Cs. If the battle lasts any longer than 2 rounds of clone/RTEF, I start throwing Health disease Cs to start working on outlasting the enemy.

Recently, I was on Dantooine with one other person doing missions. We were using a greater sludge panther as the tank fighting pickets. Since they are social creatures, I would wait till it would engage and get the attention of all the pickets then toss out the Area Health poison. That will prolly change as I have a new poison in my pack with 89 charges and does near 600 dmg per tick, but is only single target.

I use health AE posions when hunting with mainly poistol or pet users. I use Mind AE posions with I PvP or am group'd with rifelmen.I do not use single use posions, just havent see a good reason to use them over AE versions. In PvP, mind dmg is the rule for this patch and most patchs to come Im sure. In PvE I use posions that help with what type of damage the majority of the group uses. I use a Carbine and hardly every use action posion in any form. FullAutoSingle1/2 seem to do the best dmg and hits the health pool mostly.

no poisons in pve, only mind area and single target poisons in pvp. don't bother with low potency batches, basically just a waste of mind. oh and no macroes.

First my macro:
/peace;/ui action toolbarSlot 04;/actionshot2;/actionshot1
Hotkey slot 5 contains the poison I'm hunting with, mind C for PvP, health C in a group, action C for solo. Stacked bleeds and action C rot stuff pretty quick. When I'm in a large PvE group for big missions, I hardly ever shoot, let alone throw poison.

for pvp i use a macro that tosses an AOE mind poison pause 5 seconds then throws an AOE health poison. 2 reasons for this. 1 1st one going out may not catch everyone running around, also factor in resists. 2. health poison will force people to use more mind to heal themselves when it starts ticking and I use a pistol for close in work so this assists the mainly health damage I do and it catches anyone else that runs into range of the second AOE that i might have missed before. Macro switches panes tosses mind pause then helath then switches pane back to the combat pane.

Do AE health/action poisons aggro all mobs affected back to you?

heh, I madea macro for dueling last night. Mostly just fun duels, not macho "death or honor" types.

/burstrun; /duel; /applypoison

I make sure I only have the good mind poison in my inv, throw it, then burst out the door

depends on the mob it seems. If the mobs are engaged on a pet, i'll go up and AOE, then fall back. closer I am to them when that 1st tick hits seems to be a factor whether they change aggro or not.
