Back when this game first started i played a char all the way through up to master Comabt Medic, probaly one of the first on the Bria Server. Shortly after mastering it igot frustrated with the class, as nothing seemed to work very well and there wan't much combat involved with it so i erased the char and started a new one.

I was thinking about getting a second account, and was wondering if they had fixed this proffesion so that it was worthwhile.

how well do area effect things work? ie do area effect poisons and diseses work? if they do how large is the range?

Is there any combat involved as a combat medic or are you primarily a healer that can heal from a distance? Should you bother even bringing a gun?

Is it possible to do this proffesion with being an artisan and at least having the ability to survey, I found this most frustrating as i was trying to master a combat class as well as combat medic and when i dropped artisan i had to drag an artisan friend arround so that i could figure out where to place harvesters.

At least they fixed the medium and large floral farms now after i quit....

Is disease useful ? I have been diseased by a borgal life sapper on Endor before and if you don't have a doc your bar is completly black within a few minutes, ie before combat is over it is having an effect, not 10-20 minutes later.

Bleeds stack do poisons? Can you Poisons someone with multiple Poisons, ie can i poison their health action and mind bars?

Just a few questions it will help me decide if this proffesion has been fixed to the point where it is fun to play, although i am sure many of you are having fun playing

I forgot probaly one of the main reasons i got frustrated.

It takes up to 4 starting profffesions to be effective, that's 60 skill points in starting proffesions alone.

Medic/Marksmen - Required for the combat medic class

Artisan - You can't survey you are not much good because how are you going to find that lokian wild wheat way down the south part of Lok. Where do you place harvesters, just pick a spot and hope that it is in the right place.

Scout - Not neccesarily Required but if you want to be able to keep up with the group kinda a requirement.

This doesn't leave much room for being able to use a weapon, and your called what a Combat medic

Area stuff generally works great. The big stuff has good range and surprisingly great effective radius. As far as I know, there are 3 problems with area meds right now -

1) Area diseases are unusable due to a crafting bug

2) Area stims will not heal faction pets (unless you have specifically targeted the faction)

3) Corpses get diseased/poisoned by area stuff potentially causing unexpected griefing.

#1 is the ost annoying, but with area poisons and single target diseases, PvP is barely affected by the lack of area diseases.

#2 is mildly annoying

#3 doesn't really hurt us at all (some would say it helps us), but does generate plenty of nasty /tells and emails.

It depends. In PvE, poisons are actually a problem (well, at least area poisons are) due to loot right issues. So, in a small group, bring a gun. In a large group, you'll be too busy healing.

In PvP, don't take your guns to town. Sure, you can maybe stack a bleed with a poison to be effective, but if you have time to both toss meds and blast away, your opponent is doing something very wrong.

Still an issue, but that's the sort of skill trade-offs they have built into the game. For those that like combat more than crafting, having to spend a single skill point on something whihc is not directly usable in combat is annoying, but that's the nature of a combat/crafting hybrid class.

It is useful to end combat. Poisons tend to incap faster (and technically disease don't incap at all - they just leave you with 1 of the stat), but revenge TEF means death has little consequence. Diseases give death a consequence and reduce people racing out of the clone center to re-enter combat immediately.

You can absolutely poison different bars. It is not clear if a mind poison B stacks with a mind poison C however. Most people think not and I haven't personally tested this yet.

Thanks for the info i will more than likely get annother account and probaly go into the combat medic profession, and hope that they fixthe rest of the problems.

I am still a little dissapointed that they havn't fixed the typo requireing 13 BEC's and the bug in crafting of that one component.

I'll see what comes out of the next few patches

Half of the CM class is broken, it blows! It has been broken since the game came out.

it's not the class that is so broken.

granted there are a lot of bugs but most of them are not CM specific bugs.

the problem with CM is, that it is a PvP profession and PvP is broken and pointless atm.

Shrug don't know about you all but despite the "broken-ness" of our class, I still have fun on a daily basis. In PVE I tend to use AE poisons when hunting lairs, Target poisons when hunting big mobs. In PVP I use poison alot as well. As far as points go, I have 4 points left over after Mastering both Doc and CM. I used to have Novice Pistoleer and Pistol Whip 1 but after a week, I decided it just wasn't worth losing out on Mastering Doctor. At my level of skill I tend to be more effective damage wise if I use poisons and it still frees me up for healing.
