I was inspired by the great Doc FAQ thats over on the Doc forums.

Would anyone be interested in helping me make up something similar for CM's? If so what I want is this:

1. Post up some frequently asked questions, and an answer if you have one.

2. Provide answers to the questions posted if you have something to add that hasnt been already said.

I will compile the stuff and post it on a web page for anyone to see.

So anyone want to help me on this? Tex, I know you do, else im not giving you any of those AoE C's I made last night

I will start off with one:

- What are the prerequisites for CM?

You must have Master Medic, Ranged Weapon Support Specialist, and 12,500 medical XP

Q: How do I make money as CM ?

A:
Get a pet, AOE health/action poisons and run high-payout missions with non-aggressive mobs. Stick the pet, let him hit mobs a few time, throw AOE poison, run. Come back later to rinse and repeat till all mobs are dead.
Have your pet attack lair. Repeat AOE poison trick. Destroy lair.

Q: Do I have to have artisian skill to be a good CM ?
A:
On the high-population servers (Bria, Chilastra) you definetly do not.
Check Bazaar, note name of people who sell resources in bulk (same resource, same person), send them email and offer to pay a tad more then bazaar if they supply you in bulk.

Q: What is the best weapon for CM?
A:
Pistol is great (low speed, good specials even on low level).
Carbine is decent (mid-speed but fast enough to allow healing, some specials are broken but provides great damage while moving).
Rifle is not very good (slow till master levels, specials take up mind, but stacks nicely with mind poison).

Q: What resources do I need as CM?
A:
Minerals:
Dolovite Iron
Aluminum (Any)
Titanium Aluminum
Class 1 Radioactive
Class 2 Radioactive

Organic:
Berries (Dantooine)
Wild Wheat (Lok)
Insect Meat
Herbivore Meat
Fungus
Domesticated Oats (any)

Chemical:
Fiberplast (Tatooine)
Fiberplast (Yavin)
Known Liquid Petrol (Any)
Class 2 Liquid Petrochemical Fuel
Class 4 Liquid Petrochemical Fuel
Inert Petrochemical Fuel

Gas:
Reactive Gas (Any)
Eleton Reactive Gas
Tolium Reactive Gas

Water:
Water (Talus)

Q: What do different stats on poison mean?
A:
Potency - how often the poison will resist.
Effectiveness - how much damage will the poison do.
Range - How far you can apply it.
Radius - Radius for AOE in which all people get affected.

Q: How much damage do poison do?
A:
Simplified formula:
Damage per tick = (poison effectiveness) * (1 + (CM effectivness) / 100)
So master CM (90 CM effectivness) with single line pack of 250 will do
250 * (1 + 90/100) = 475 damage.

Q: I tried poisoning Kreetle, but it's faster for me to stomp on him then to kill him, poisons are useless ?
A:
For some reason low level mobs have incredibly high resist rate, but do not worry, your poison will work just fine against other players and high level mobs, even against Kryat dragons.

Q: I poisoned mob and ran away, now I can't loot/harvest it, what's up ?
A:
Currently if you kill mob ONLY with poison you will not be counted as killer and will not get access to loot/harvest.
Make sure you take a few shots at the mob, any damage that would give you weapon exp will mark as you killer.

Q: I throw AOE poison at a group of rebels, and one of them sends me nasty tell telling me I am exploiting because I poisoned his corpse so he came out of clone center with poison. Was I really exploiting ?
A:
No you were NOT! CM does not have control over who gets affected with AOE poison - if poison hits then it was valid target for CM.

Q: Why can't I make Advanced Resiliance component ?
Q: Why can't I use AOE disease ?
Q: Why don't I get FPs in group when killing NPCs with poison ?
A:
Please read TOP 5 CM issues list on CM forum.

Here is what I have been able to compile so far:

http://www.aiha-rms.org/swg/faq.asp

Eventually that page will be dynamic, and people will be able to add answers to each question.

http://www.aiha-rms.org/swg/schematic_select.asp

here is a list of all the medical schematics, not everything has data in it yet though

Plus I still need to come up with a decent layout

What about something like :

Q) I have points left over to dabble in CM what is a good template

A) The combat medic is not a dabble friendly profession. To use the best poisons it requires tier 4 CM medical use. If you want to make your own high level poisons you need tier 4 crafting. And to throw farther then 25 meters you'll need CM range. If you only want AE heals it becomes more simplied and will require a slightly less in skill points to invest. If you know of a master CM who is willing to make equipment for you then you may not need the crafting skills. To use the best AE poisons you will need to obtain the level of Master Combat Medic.

http://www.aiha-rms.org/swg/schematic_select.asp

Great list, but CM list is messed up, intermediate showing nothing, advanced shows novice, expert shows intermediate, master crafting shows advanced, and master CM shows expert , with other lists only available if you manually change the link to higher number

Very nice work Agent double Oh one.

Can you add a description for each schematic, so you know what its used in, or a general idea of what it does.

I am interested but it seems that most of the frequently asked questions are listed already, except for one:

Q: What is the best way to level up as a Combat Medic?

A: Support and Crafting first, then use Area Stim A/B's on group hunts to get Range, then you get Speed last. Area Stim B's make Range and Speed advance really well on hunts. As for crafting, some CM's say to straight grind. Personally I would rather make stims to use and sell then make an endless number of BEC's. At least you get to use the Stims when you want to take a break and go shoot things, and you can sell the others and get more grind material. Takes the edge off the total tediousness. After all, "man was not born to sit day after day in a cubicle punching code".
