I have been thinking about this for awhile and I think I figured out a solution to ths problem. I just don't hav the clout to get devs to consider it. Hoping that it can be brought up at your meetings or however you communicate.
Problem:
Continuing drops of attachments with mods that do not work.
Example - CM Effectiveness, Ranged Healing, etc
Solution:
Devs publish a list of mods that do not work.
Players clear out their bank inventory.
Players deposit all broken mods into bank inventory.
Devs / CSRs over the course of the month go though each galaxy and each bank and deletes the broken attachments.
Devs / CSR replace the broken attachments with working attachments of comparable stats
Example - +8 broken Cm Effectiveness replaced with a +8 Terrain Negotiation
To note, the replacements dont even have to be relevant to our profession, any attachment will do and then players can take them to forums or trade with guildies and friends to sort everything out.
If anyone has any thoughts on how to make the idea better so that the devs would consider it more seriously please respond.

I have always thought that Junk Dealers should buy any attachment item. The price would depend on high the mod. Say 10k per +1. It would make things much easier. So if you get that +19 CM eff tape then you can get 190k for it.

Not a bad idea, though there is a bid difference on my server between a cm exp tape at a mil a point and 10k per pt from the dealer. I guess anything is better than nothing though.

The Devs are in the process of doing a loot pass, changing out old loot for new and all that. I doubt they'd have the time or manpower to implement the idea you suggested since they're currently working on the Sandbox/CU, the loot changes, bug fixes etc... but I'll pass it along.
Btw, I have no clout either... if I did, I'd have gotten them to give methe tapes on TC to show them firsthand that our tapes are indeedbroken.

Why make everyone empty their banks for this? Seriously, if the devs were going to spend the time to convert nonworking tapes to working ones, they could do itanywhere the tapes are stored. I agree that the broken tapes are a problem, but hopefully the loot revamps will solve it by removing them from the loot tables.

I just figured that the bank system is on a different sort of code than your personal inventory, which is why you can access it anywhere on the base planet and why it takes a second more to load than your personal inventory.
Good to hear about the rework.
