right now i'm training to get to master medic. I'm also training to be become a master pikeman. Should i be master pike/combat medic(till i lose all my skill points) or should i not master pike and master combat medic. OR should i go tka? is mastering combat medic much of a difference from getting close to mastering it.

Really, there's not a "significant" difference between 4004 CM and Master CM. You're better off mastering either TKA or Pike (whichever makes you happier), and then 4004 CM, if you want to be offensive. You can use poisons/diseases to to deal damage while you happily tank away.

At least pick up novice doctor. The ability to heal states is worth it's weight in gold. Having a small poison cure ability is also worth the extra points.
