Thread: CM profession status: postpatch analysis

Well, my first word after reading patch notes was F**K. And second was the same Now its time for comprehensive tests and decisions.

  • +10 CM effectiveness
    Confirmed, now master CM gets 2xbase poison ticks, not 1.9x as prepatch

  • Heal delay is much smaller now, and thats soo great! I can throw poisons each 2 seconds.

  • ARC loads now

    • unexperimented potency already way over 100 (mine packs are 120+)

    • duration increased around 4 times, now it takes single pack for almost every mob (i havent tested on 50k+ HAM mobs, but 33k HAM dark jedi master was poisoned down to 1 health with single shot)

  • no permission to loot bug - still not fixed

  • mobs not aggroing on poison throw - fixed

  • and now the most argued: +1 nerf

    • Solo PvP: now its a suicide unless you have secondary combat class. In that case its a joke (with new ranges on poisons)

    • Group PvP: +1 does not matter at all

    • Solo PvE: some mobs like krayts are now unsoloable. Some are still, like DJMs, even with CDEF pistol i managed to hit his armor hole in a 3 minutes. Annoying, but not fatal. Well, to be honest, soloing krayts was not the easy task even prenerf... As long as armor hole exist PvE is just a bin longer and annoying.

    • Group PvE: +1 nerf does not matter



        What packs now we can use ? Well, here is my list from Eclipse, using nearly best res and 12 exp points i made such packs:

        • Mind Area Disease

          • 41 Charges

          • 124 potency

          • 94 effectiveness

          • 36 range

          • 35 area effect

        • Mind Area Poison

          • 41 Charges

          • 120 potency

          • 225 effectiveness

          • 34 range

          • 35 area effect

        • Mind Poison

          • 41 Charges

          • 120 potency

          • 315 effectiveness

          • 36 range

        • Mind Poison - Sniper edition

          • 53 Charges

          • 120 potency

          • 162 effectiveness

          • 49 range
        A conclusion ? We lost soloing krayts, kimos and some other nasty mobs. We gained a huge boost to our crafting abilities and to our combat and support abilities. Is it a nerf ? I'd say if it is, everyone now cry for such nerf in their profession ...

        You gotta be kidding me. You cry nerf because you can't solo a Krayt? How could you solo a crayt before? I fee SO sorry for you. Not.

        Did you read what he posted before coming in here and complaining? He said it wasn't a nerf. that if it was a nerf everybody should be crying for such a similar nerf.



        As an added bonus (not mentioned up there) The poison fixing has also had the effect that Combat XP is being granted on the poison ticks like healing. I'm regularily killing mobs and getting 1000+ Combat XP...Nice if you have another class that requires it.

        What server has resources that let you craft with that kind of range? On tarq I am lucky when I can get 29 range

        Range is determined by ADM. My fuel2 is like 890oq/600dr and yavin fiber 953oq/523dr, resulting ADM is 24 charges/21 range, final combine resources are very great, so unexperimented range is 34. Range depend on conductivity, check your nonferrous metal.

        You had problems with this? I haven't run into the no permisson problem at all since the publish. Heck, if someone tries to kill-steal something I've poisoned and even if I do no other damage, if my poison outdamaged what they did, even if they get the killing blow (which they always will now if allI do is poison) I would get loot rights. So I usually got loot rights.


        Are there any specific situations you've found where you aren't getting loot rights? Maybe we can narrow this down some.

        I'm not a combat medic or a regular medic for that matter, tho my holo did tell me to master Combat Medic and I'm still undecided on that.


        Anyway, I am a ranger 4/0/4/0, pistoleer 0/1/4/2, Master CH, and I use my bleeding shots in nearly every fight I have with other critters. If he's not getting loot rights, it could be the same thing us ranged combat user have dealt with. If we bleed a critter/npc/etc, and then run, doing no damage but the bleed shot and then letting it dwindle the health down, much like a poison/disease, we don't get loot/harvesting rights nor do we get any xp. We have to hit the target with at least one damaging shot that isn't a bleed shot in order to get those rights of looting/harvesting. At least that is my experience. You getting loot if someone tried to kill-steal could be done cause the other person hit it with a regular damage shot. Maybe not, I can't say for sure. Just trying to help.

        Zarlor, problem is when you cant deal even 1 point of normal damage (to NS elder for example) and mob dies being killed by poisons only - no permission to loot. So instead of fixing it sony stopped poisons at +1. But if mob is at +1 and someone elsekills it - you have no permission and that guy have. If you made at least 1 damage with your weapon, loot is yours.

        Congrats, WildWildMan. It doesn't take long to adapt to "nerfs." I wish I could see you in game, I'd like to get some pointers on those juvy Krayts. I love creative thinking.
