Thread: CBM In PVP
CBM like combat medic? depends how you fight, personally i dont see much use to anything more than 44x4 (thyroid rupture for 40% de-buff, poison and fire for 350 damage per tick each. and 1100-1500 heals peronal, ranged & area. i find its a great support temp along with almost any other proffesion. (as M.rifle and BH44xx i can almostsolo any jedi ona good day). it comes into its own in group pvp, especially if you're with a few jedi - the opposition will go for the obvious LS waving jedi first leaving you to hit them with poison, fire, 40% attack speed & movement de-buffs. if anyone is still alive after being hit by a couple of others while you do this, its often too late for them as the last tick of poison finishes them off as they struggle to run away with the movement speed de-buff.
i'd have CM 44x4 (at least) with ANY PVP non jedi template.

rezzing abilty.great heals and debuffs.
Think of it this way, right now it's the fav thing for BH's MBH/MCM/....some other flavor here.
And there PvPing ag the toughest opponents.......supossedly.
I'm a Master Doc/Master CM with Rifles 1101, and I've been known to hold my own against Full-Temp Jedi. Basically, the secret behind being a good PvPer is knowing your template. CMs provide alot of useful states against players and NPCs alike, however if you misuse them, you'll find yourself in the cloners alot more than you thought you would have.
As I tell everyone who's on their way to being a CM, get to know what you can and cannot do. Figure out what your abilities do, and what they don't do, Find a good friend and have an extended duel session with him/her/it to find out what works and what doesn't.
Basically, For the long hauls, I use the Infect command. While it doesn't work like it's counterpart back in the Pre-CU days, it does however make an 800pt drop on the person's health HAM. Traumatize is excellent against healers, as they rely on their mind to stay with the action. Hemorrhage is VITAL to any combat profession such as BHs, Jedi, Carbineers, and Riflemen. As stated as before, DOTs are excellent because they bypass the damage mitigation of the armor. Paralyze is a devious command, which happens to piss off alot of people. Thyroid Rupture may seem like it doesn't do much, but it does help out, even if it's a little bit. Electrolyte Drain is a snare, and therefore good against Jedi/TKMs or any Melee professions.
Good luck with CM if you decide to stick with it!
