Thread: Poison effectiveness = how much damage?
Anyone have an idea on how much effectiveness = how much damage per tick?
I figure there is some linear relationship between the two but have not done any testing myself. Has anyone else?

The formula I have seen floating about is:
(effectiveness) * ((CM Effectiveness skill/100)+1) = Damage per tick.
Given the names of the attibutes on the poison I always assumed:
Effectiveness = How likely will the poison effect the target (Higher Effectiveness = Less Resists)
Potency = How much damage the poison will do (Higher Potency = More Damage Each Tick)
Potency seems to increase when you experiment on Ease Of Use so it may have some other purpose. Does anyone know what the potency is really for if effectiveness determines the damage?
From what I've read Potency effects how often the poison will be resisted. I do not know if there is a formula associated with it, or if it is a straight percentage based on the potency number itself.
Can anyone clear this up?

It seems to be an almost straight percentage as to how well a poison/disease sticks. Potency 80 giving about an 80% chance of sticking, but it is pretty intangible to prove. I bet anything over 100 will give a 99.9% chance of sticking...giving just enough room for a crit failure on application.
