Thread: Combat Medic, worth the effort?

From what I've read, Combat Medic shines in PVP. My guild is looking for a healer, and I am going to be the one to do it. As of now, I'm a 2100 Doctor, but as going towards Combat Medic. I know the Area Heals looks and sounds very nice, along with a ranged heal. But compared to a Doctor, how well is a Combat Medic in a Hunting Party compared to a Doctor. I'm pretty new (started Christmas) and haven't master the art of combat healing, but I'm sure working on it. My real question, would Combat Medic be worth dropping my Doctor trees?

heal mind and area heals.
Also the joy you see in the eyes of people, as you crank your arm back for that poisen volley is priceless

CM is a great profession, its loads of fun and if you go for master you will be a welcome addition to any hunting party, once they get used to having you around for heals they will wonder how they ever did with out you.
I'm dropping CM for Doc but i'm having a hard time doing so because i enjoy it so much and the ranged heals, mind heal and area heals are just such good things to have.
if you want to be a healer for your hunting parties you could always do master doc/master CM then you'll be able to heal or cure anything the game can throw at your fellow hunters and will be able to chuck some nice poisonsto help them deal damage

If u wanne be the "group-healer" go for doc/cm...both profs have very value abilities...as a doc u can buff/cure/rez and with your cm-skills u can toss poison/disease(helps a lot against high end mobs likens elders or krayts)as well as using the ranged and area stims along with the nice mindhealing...my alt is doc 4440/mcm with artisan 0040(need a vendor) and its real fun to play it...
