Hello guys. I heard many wonderful things about combat medic and I've taken up the profession. But as a novice doing mostly PvE my poison DoTs for mind/ health/ action don't seem to stick on any mobs. They are resisted perhaps as often as 90% of the time. Is this common? Does this improve? Or is combat medic geared more torwards PvP? So far I'm a little disappointed and even considering selling back the profession. Any advice would be great guys. Thanks!

Generally you want your potency to get up into the high 90's or if possible over the 100's to keep from bouncing off of npc's. If you're working with non-advanced items then your resilience compounds should be maxed out for potency. If you start moving into the PvP category and get hold of some advanced materials (good luck buddy) then be sure and max out the potency on those as well or at least try and get decently high. A good poison that ticks for 3minutes but bounces off of a resist buff isn't as good as a 1 minute high potency poison that tears through the doctorresists. In PvE its the other way around and a RC with 40+ potency and the rest into duration should put the prime assembled item's potency over 100.

As to the other question, yes they poisoning side of Combat Medic does seem more geared towards PvP as player HAM bars are much smaller while npc's have much higher HAM pools. Poisons due help some but in all actuality they're better off saved for high level content with heavy armorwhere you need alot of firepower. Why bother dropping a 1k DoT poison on low or mid level content that ticks every ten seconds when when you're hitting for 1k+ damage every 1-2 seconds with a weapon?

I am a doc/cm as well. I craft on Dant. Those darn huurtons can be a pain. Now I pull out my BE lvl 10pet to get the agro then toss a poison, then its back to crafting. If I dont use poison the pet can get killed because it takes him to long to kill.

It is also the best way to get med exp for the FS grind.

Hopefully they'll drop some Nova Troopers there.

You can do the same to baz nitch's with the same effect only less of a drive from the village.
