Thread: Seeking Opinions on Adv. Components vs Basic

I'm a MCM/MDoc and possibly one of the few like that on my server. That leads to my question. I was considering opening a vendor (have a second toon 4444 merchant) that sells combat medic supplies (ranged Stims, poisons, state heals, rez packs) and I have read about how the worst advanced component is better than the best basic component. I really dont want to spend years looking and waiting for uber resources when I can make and fill vendors with poisons and diseases with basic experimented out components. My game play has come to a stand still as I debate this issue. I dont want to drop either master doc or master combat medic but miss playing as I have as a TKM/Mbrawler, yet I dont want to waste time putting up stims and poisons that no one will want to buy. I will make Uber stuff but that wont be mass produced and that will be custom order. Seeking the opinions of vet Crafters. Help me decide please.

Good Luck. i make those decisions everyday. i make what sells here on Corbantis. but you cant go wrong with 3 things:
1) mind poison c's
2) ranged and area stims
3) venom/bile poison/disease
always a sale when CM's are looking for a crafted product

One of the main problems is Class 1 Radioactive. But still as you said a Adv. component will always be better then basic. When Class 1 does spawn just make sure to get all your friends to help you dig it up. The last spawn on Bria I managed to get over 1 million units, just hoping it lasts me a while, while the stats aren't super great, it will have to do as it is all I have. Plus I havn't seen a good Yavian Fiber on Bria in a while. If a resource spawns for a adv. component, even if the stats suck, mine it anyway, fully experimented, it will be better then basic.

You don't need to worry about Yavin Fiber as much as the rest of them. It's usually in spawn just keep an eye on it's stats.

Yeah, just for the past few months, it hasn't been good. Ended up buying a starting supply of it.

sorry got off topic there....
always use advanced if you can. i cant see the use in them myself....

A good rule of thumb: even with average resources, your advanced components will at least be twice as good as the basic components. If you have plans to market your products, you will need to make advanced components to compete in some respect. I suggest trying it out foryourself as hands on experience is the best teacher. Make a couple of C poisons with basic and advance using the same resources and you will see the difference. Good luck!

Always go adv, and keep a close eye on resource spawns. When it pops, extract it like you'll never see it again...lol It took me awhile, but it finally paid off, I will more than likely never run out of any of them again. You get guildies and friends to drop extractors for you, a couple million units is always nice
