Why do we have 41 schematics (and now more with publish 8) that depend on Master Artisan parts, specifically the electronics modules the most? Other crafters do have a dependency on these parts for specific items, but most will only rarely need these parts every once and a while. I (and the majority of other DE's I know) run electronics module runs in their factories every other day. No other crafters have this kind of dependency for such a large portion of the items they craft and not have the schematics they need inside their own profession.
During SWG’s pre-launch development, crafting interdependencies were envisioned to be much more prevalent than they currently are. As beta progressed and the crafting professions went through changes and redesigns, many of the interdependencies were dropped for a variety of reasons. Going forward in the game’s development, players should expect to see more crafting interdependency as more and more complex items are added to the game. That is to say, that crafting professions will have interdependencies added. Understanding that the DE”s see this as a saddle, I’m certainly willing to take a strong argument to the dev team to get this reduced.

"No other crafters have this kind of dependency..." *cough* combat medics *cough*
Well, so droid engineers don't understand all our issues, that's okay. The big news I'm taking out of this is that the devs are at least planning on increasing the interdependencies of the various classes. So it is very plausible for combat medics to start selling components to doctors and medics, or maybe even weaponsmiths, armorsmiths, tailors, and pretty much everything else you want to stick a poison or anti-poison into. (Can you imagine a droid with a poisonlaunching module? Hmm...)
As for if these plans will be realized is anybody's guess (and I get the feeling the devs wouldn't want to run a poll in the forums about that), but at least the devs are planning on changing crafting dependencies, so maybe our ideas aren't falling on deaf ears.

DE interdependency far, far outweighs our own. They're almost required to take Master Artisan to create their droids, and they're right to be upset about it. Personally, though, I think they're level of interdependency(not the tight focus on MA, just the level of interdependency) is fine. They just need to have it spread more evenly amongst other professions.
As for what this means for us, hopefully it IS a good sign. The game is trending towards more interdependency. Perhaps with that trend, we can sneak in a few of our ideas

Well, apparently I don't understand Droid Engineer's concerns very well then. To any DE's who may have stumbled across our forum, "what are you doing here?"
*cough*
I mean "I'm sorry for marginalizing your concerns."
P.S. Wow, the spell checker doesn't like the word "marginalizing". It's spelled correctly though...

For a long while after the end of the JTL Beta, I would see something in the launchpad server status section...
"Minicluster 1
Minicluster 2"
Now, maybe I'm crazy, but I think those servers are somehow associated with the testing infrastructure at SOE. If I'm right, then this means that the devs are currently setting up the hardware for the ALPHA testing suggesting that it may not be too far off...
Anyone else as optimistic as I am?

Those have been there for some time now, actually.
I noticed them a few months ago and asked the same thing. They had something to do with TC, such as TC-Ahazi, TC-Bria, etc...

I think what he is trying to say is that those servers-clusters are nolonger listed as "Offline"
Might this mean that they are actualy in opperation?
Are the devs doing preliminary internal testing on the CURB?
Will the DEVs finaly start giving us real information about the CURB?
Will Thunderheart and Tiggs Ever get together?!
Find out all this and more on the next episode of............................. Days of our Flames
He he he, started doing questions and it reminded me of all those sappy soap opras that ended the show with a bunch of questions
