I am currently a CM/Doc but would like to put some of my Doc crafting points into my gun skill. Here is my question:

Don non-doctor combat medics get the full 10 experimentation points for crafting advanced stim components- BECs, CRDMs, and SSDS?

Thanks,

-P

No, As far as i know, you need to be in the doc tree to get the full 10 experimentation points for the abecs, acrm's, asds and the als's

Combat medics have their components in their crafting tree now.

No, but you can either buy components from a master doc or you can just use bigger stims - an area C or ranged E with 5 experimentation points will still be pretty good (probably overkill for most heals). Anyway, you can test this before you surrender the skills by just limiting yourself to 5 experimentation points on the components.

well, even with only 5 points, master docs have better experimentation than master medics.

i make most of my own comps atm, but will probably ask a master doc to make my schematics. even with my own comps, my area Cs can pretty much heal every player's unbuffed ham bar back up to full. then you can use ranged stims for pets, they work very well

Thanks for your input. I'll have to play around with 5 exp points and see if I'll be happy with that.

Don't forget that your medicine assembly will go down too. Not only will you lose 5 experimentation points on the doctor tree, but you'll lose the assembly that goes with it. That means higher risk on experimentation and greater chance of critical failures.

is that what the assembly does, huh? it helps with experimenting also? no wonder my risk rates are always zero...

oh, and to point something out, you get 10 exp points with doctor crafting 4, you don't get any exp points with master doctor, heh

There's a difference between poison/disease experimentation points and stim experimentation points for non-doc cm's.
