In the December patch, they will introduce mitigation to combat professions.

They mentioned melee mitigation bonus for melee classes & rangedmitigation bonuses for ranged classes. BH and smugglers have been mentionned too as special cases and will get melee mitigation.

But what about us?

Are we getting any bonus? I really hope so. We are definitely a ranged combat class.

Do you have any info on this please?.

Thanks.

PS: for those who don't know what mitigation is, here is a short explanation:

If a mob can hit you for 1-100 damage:

at mitigation level 1, max damage will be reduced by 20%

at mitigation level 2, max damage will be reduced by 40%

at mitigation level 3, max damage will be reduced by 60%

As of right now we do not get any sort of mitigation. If you don't mind, add this to the balance thread stickied above. It sounds like a good idea.

Okie, it's done.

I REALLY hope they're not going to forget us. We are a combat class, just like BH etc...

Well how much mitigation will Swordsman be getting?

How will a CM be determined ranged or melee, you dont have to hold a poison in your hands. Im a swordsman/cm and if I get a lower ranged mitigation bc Im also a CM Im going to be PISSED.

Mitigation stacks, (edit: melee and ranged will not interfere with each other is what I mean to say, sorry)*i think*, so you don't have to wory if you get it in 2 different classes.

Combat Medics were not intended to get mitigation, but I like the idea of them getting it. Because they were not intended to get it, I do not know IF they would get melee or ranged.

Ranged makes more sence to me, we need marksman skills to become combat meds, after all.

Of course, I don't fully understand the issue, but it sounds interesting.

Am I mistaken I was under this impression that this change was a LONG way off, it was certainly not supposed to be ready for the December patch or so I understood, am I wrong?

If mitigation is added for Combat Medics, then their poison damage should be affected by the PvP penalty AND mitigation also, just to be fair.

I don't feel a need for mitigation. I don't feel our skills make us more resistant to outright damage. We do need some defensive bonuses to offset the mob agro when healing a friendly and the general kill the Combat Medic first mentality in PvP.
