Thread: CM's too powerful? Nah, but the exploits certianly are.
I'm sure that CM would be a perfectly fair class.....if the exploits were fixed.
Will they be fixed......probably not. Why do I think this you ask? Because the CSR's certianly didn't care that this exploit went on for a full 2 hours even with a bunch of us reporting it. If this exploit isn't important enough for a CSR to care about it why should the DEV's.
Maybe I just don't get the SOE mentality. I mean, hell, the CSR's banned some Jedi's for slicing there sabers, but they won't do a damned thing to CM's using this exploit. I'm more than willing to be pitted up against a jedi with a "uber saber" ... but to pit me against a CM that can drain my mind in less than 2 seconds from off of my radar, well that's asking a bit much.

No one can make a poison with a range at above 256m. I don't think I've heard of even really broken poisons at ranges above 100m.
Not even Gnuut tosses poisons at that range ![]()

I wish I did have it set to the lowest but I double checked and ya, definately 256m. Regardless though, he was totally wiping the floors with me and a PA I was helping through 2 sets of walls (not mentioning the range again).
As I said, I think that CM's are already pretty much balanced if only the exploits were patched up. The problem is though that so many PvP CM's use these exploits with no CSR's ever getting involved that they might as well be classified as "ubdocumented class skills"

May I ask why you defend the exploits? I come to this forum not screaming "Nerf" but screaming "fix the exploit and leave the rest alone" and I still get jumped all over.
Sad.....really sad. But I guess all community's in this game aren't as nice as the ones I've been associated with. How naive of me to think that they would be.

Hey, I just questioned that you could be poisoned from 256m out. This was to me a such outrageous statement that I just couldn't believe it. Now make a valid post that does not stink of nerf and we will be nice to you.
Most combat medics (not all granted) but most, wants the bugs and exploits removed from our profession just as much as you claim to do. It migh be hard to believe, but contrary to popular belief we do not use baby blood in our religous rituals, nor do we consume the flesh of children. ![]()

I'd be the one stating that I haven't seen any poison that could be tossed beyond 100m (a number that is significant as it is less than half the range you claim to have experienced). I also stated that most CMs (I'm among them) acknowledge that range beyond 64m is a bug and probably should be removed asap.
But I guess this is all a misunderstanding, Fappun is right and you thought every tick was a new application of poison.
256 = impossible....
But I think what is happening is the people outside were fighting, the guy is not on his radar possibly due to he cant see him, because even if you are red you don't always shop on radar when you are 256m from the person. Thus the combat medic poisons the guy in front of the base, AoE ignores Z-axis and walls as previously mentioned 1000 times and gets this poor fella, inside of the base. This possibly could be his first base raid defense and did not know of such things happening, but yes it is a bug and most of us would like to see poisons only poison things in LoS.
The CM was not exploiting as he could do nothing about his AoE, besides not use it which is not a very viable option. But everyone knows base defense is so simple right with turrets having to be destroyed that its a wonder if anyone can destroy a base, as long as it has turrets and people ready to defend it.
