Thread: What works better for PVE area poison or disease??
Diseases are a waste in PvE. They do not act fast enough. The idea in PVE in my opinion is to put the mob on the ground as soon as possible.
I like the strongest single attack poison I can get, along with the strongest Area poison I can get for those times when I get ganged on.
I usually bleed the mob first, and as the mob is closing, I hit them with the poison. This gives me the chance now to run, especially if they are a hand to hand type mob. If they are a ranged mob, it works too, you just have to run a little faster :-).
Then of course there are those times whena whole herd of mobs attack you, in that case I still like to single poison the first mob, and then area poison the rest.
Oh and if you are are attacking a group that will all attack, then make sure you attack the toughest one first. This gets the most damage bleeding on that one mob while you are taking the time landing poisons on the rest of the group.
Depends on what you're hunting. When I go after the Nightsisters, I use area health poisons that tic in the 900 range (spider venom and rancor bile, so 190 charges, it'll last a while). Until I hit the Elder or Queen where I switch to Mind Poison and Disease both (they heal themselves for 5K a pop, so health kills are tougher).
Singles are more effective than areas, but I don't make singles simply because if it's one target rarely will I poison it, I'll just shoot it to death.
