Currently I'm Master Doc / CM 4224 (omw to Master) / pistoleer 0010.

I"d really like to master CM, but then the only offense besides poisons and disease would be pistol marksman 4.

Would I be better off keeping the pistols 4 or just stay 0 and pick up surveying.

I dont really want to drop Doc, because ATM it's my only source of income.

Sheesh, I'm so confused.

or Rifles IV or Carbines IV. Depending on your poisons you can stack them, C with B's etc....

It is possible to achieve some pretty amazing things as aMD/MCM if you use the combination of poisons, heals, food, drink, armour, weaponsand tactics.

Yup. I'm an MD/MCM with carbines 4. Solo PVE is a bit of a struggle (takes forever to destroy a lair or camp). In group PVE, the MD/MCM is an unrivaled support character. I like knowing that there is nothing that can happen to my group memebers that I can't undo. The same thing goes for group PVP, though if the other side knows who you are, you will always be target number 1. Whenever I'm with a large group (PVP or PVE), I don't even equip a weapon, it just slows down my healing actions. Solo PVP, is another story entirely. We like to hold impromptu dueling contests in my guild. The only people I worry about are high level riflemen. In duels I just let my poisons do the work and use my carbine to take the last point for the incap. I can take master riflemen, but it takes a bit of luck and a fully buffed mind. Even before the flame DOT was nerfed, I could take commandos and bounty hunters. Good armor is a must have for this template as we have very little in the way of defenses. The template I won't tangle with is Doc/Rifleman.

As to keeping your marksman weapon skills or trading them for survey, my answer is both. It doesn't take long at all to level back up to a marksman level 4 skill. I've been known to drop down to a level 1 and pick up scout whenever there is a great avian meat spawn. I make my living sellingbuff packs(I don't buff the public, only free buffs for friends), so I can never have enough avian meat.

good post Obata, thats exactly how i play my master doc /MCM all i would add is get a creature harvesting droid with +100 creature harvesting. Then you can harvest at novice scout the same ammount a master ranger would, if you use your droid. I would also keep pisols 4 or rifles 4 if you plan to do alot of pvp. With rifles 4 you can use the jawa ion rifle and cut through armour better. I use a pre-nurf scout blaster(soi am certifierd for it) at pistols 4, decent speed anddamage. Have fun and always keep yourlots used, you will need tons of resources always.

Mdoc/mCM with a good FW pistol and bodyshot or a good spraystick and mindshot works well. A nice E11 carbine with full auto would also work just as well imo.

Problem with MD/MCM is that if the people you fight actually came prepared with the new resists you are toast. If they have any doctor curative skills your toast. If they have meditate there's a good chance....you guess it you're toast. I started going that route for a while then realized I was too limited in both PvP and PvE. People have had time to get their tenure and are realizing the nature of the new resists thereby cancelling out the old poison and run.

Who said anything about running? I stand my ground against any template that doesn't include rifleman, in which case I'm always looking to break LOS. TKMs are no problem with good kinetic armor. One of the beautiful parts about being a doc is that I can get up from the KD/dizzy. Obviously, it is the other doc templates that can give me fits. All I need is one tick on the doc's mind though, and it's over. In a doc vs CM duel, the CM usually has a slight advantage unless and until the timer issue gets changed. The issue I'm refering to is with reapplication of poisons after a cure ticking when the first one would have, instead of 10 seconds after reapplication. Yes the new resists make it even tougher. But unless the doc is also a rifleman, he can't hurt me much while I throw the poisons to get through the resist.

You're describing a known bug. However yes that can be used to our advantage. The downside is that it requires you to forego any specials and spam /applypoison until they cure it in order to get the timing right or risk missing that window. Thats a little too much dependency on poison/diseasefor my tastes.

High 80% layered kinetic is good vs. TK's but you have to be a human with mind buffs to totally negate their headhit1. As a zabrak with an 80% kinetic helmet and entertainer buffs a TK can still cut through my MIND. Not too mention I rarely wear high kinetic unless its that way from a particular slice. I can't afford to risk not having any stun protection if I meet up against another rifleman.

Many alien races are capped at 500 focus so just putting on a damage sliced stun helmet requires a shot of brandy....unless you're wearing marabi Even with a buff I still have to go to great lengths to reach the mystical 1500 mark.

Try eating Ahrisa. It's a 400+ buff to focus for about 40 minutes and you can eat three of them. Yes, the timer issue is a bug (I was one of the people who confirmed that it existed). Yes, I am human, and yes my PVP helmet is stun layered and effectiveness sliced to get the base into the 80s.

As for relying on poisons instead of specials? With only carbines 4 as my highest weapon skill, my poisons are my best specials.

A couple other options not mentioned -

Rifle-3/Pistol-3 works. Gives you more flexibility on weapons damage types and weapon speeds at the cost of a bleed.

Novice brawler/weapon-1 also works. Novice brawler gives you some additional defense in the form of warcry and intimidate at the cost of offense. It also allows you the ability to switch between scout, artisan, and brawler easily if you need to survey or harvest.

Yes I eat that stuff like its going out of style but can only afford to eat 2 at the most in order to leave room for a thakitillo which is mandatory. A full MIND substat entertainer buff, 2 brandies (98% drink fill), and 1 BE enhanced ahrisa (30+ fill)are usually enough to get me to the 1500 mark so I dont commit suicide using rifle specials. With all of that I still have room for 2 foods. 1 is for thakitillo (30+ fill), and a choice of pikatta pie or snow cake (30+fill).

Humans can get a substat entertainer MIND buff and suck down a single brandy to match what I have to do. Dang....sometimes I think I should reroll my character.

Just noticed your template. Yeah I cant blame you for being poison/disease dependent. Your downside is super gimp defense. Unless they got some high potency stuff, I smoke those templates fairly easily.
