In PvP, what do you value more? Your DoTs or Paralyze, because you can't use them together.
I was just wondering, because they are both good in different situations.

Its hard to say... The 1st thing I do in every fight is paralyze. That allows me to apply 3 or 4 states to the target without getting damaged. THen when the paralyze wears off, I knock them down and lay down 2 or 3 dots. I usually will never use paralyze again since my dots will prevent it from working. I win much more than I lose.

i would say use this as a general rule of thumb, assuming u use ranged weapons, against another ranged person use dots, against any melee 1v1 use paralyze, and in group pvp use dots

I tend to allways apply dots if it's something or some one with alot of hp (CL80 and up pretty much). Depending largely uppon how fast hteir going down. I dont PVP much with my MCM but i've found it handy when selling FP and suddenly getting attacked by another overt player. Paralyze. State em up. THEN i toss on dots and the like. Especiallyw ith a character like mine who has pretty low defences, speed and acc mods it's almost critically important. I also find the template is extremely good if you want a support player. As for up close you can just use the paralyze ability. And for further out you can simply pop them with concussion shot which is now identical to paralyze, except it's ranged.

Some people "perma-Paralyze" until their gank squad buddies arrive.
Problem with paralyze is you have to stay within ~5m to use it. If your opponent knows this and is smart... and isn't melee... you're done.

I'll generally never use DOTs in PvP - as paralyze is kind of like my escape hatch (buys time to apply debuffs, heal yourself, put distance bewteen me and target [since I''m MRM also]).
The only time I'll really use DOTs is with someone with very nice damage mitigation - like TKA (i think they renamed the mitigation to innate armor, but same principle). The DOTs seem to ignore that and do their normal damage, regardless of armor / defense. So those jedi defenders / TKMs take more dmg withe DOT in that situation.
Otherwise, it's paralyze all the way! =)
