Just browsing thru the CM boards to find some clues as to what I am doing wrong in PvP against CM's. And basically all that is here is Nerf and Anti-Nerf cries and whines. The Nerfs are whining that they are getting overrun too easily using screens to support their efforts, and the Anti-Nerfs are crying that they are still underpowered and using numbers to help support their cries. So basically I feel it time to place another opinion on the table. Bare with me on this post, its going to be a bit lengthy, but hopefully shed some light on both sides of the conflict in order to find a happy medium with everyone!

1. CM's Poisons -Now poisons the way they are currently are IMO actually fun to have to try and counter. Last night I had probably been poisoned 5 times in my mind, and countered each one with a muon, or some food. Dont get me wrong here I was HURTING in mind, BUT I wasnt incapped and could still barely help in the fight, which to me seems pretty effective concidering Im a Rifleman. Take out my specials and all I can do is minimal damage... a form of croud control. Poisons are in good shape.

2. CM's Diseases - "I just got an STD from a CM!!!!" Now granted these do damage what every 20-40 sec (Forgive me if I dont know the proper number here, Ive read alot of posts today, and alot of them had ALOT of numbers in them) BUT fromthe perspective of the recipient of the disease, as SOON as you see your hit with disease YOU KNOW you have to find a DOC(see below)because as easily as a few minutes later you could very well be sitting with full black bars. So yes CM's, your DPS is extremely low, BUT you are taking people out of action as soon as you hit them. In essence, thats a 1 hit kill equivalent. Combine THAT with AREA diseases, and you've just taken ALOT of people out of action... say 50% of them are smart enough to run on the first disease and get it healed, now you drop an AOE poison on the remaining 50%, then turn tail and run... all of this from 90m.

The SMART CM's always survive with this tactic, and VERY effectively wipe out army's this way. We've all seen it done thousands of times. Now the thing you have to take into concideration, in larger scale battles, there are normally 5-7 CM's on both sides doing this very thing. So what your left with is 2 sides of a battle waiting for their Biological warfare to lower numbers on either side in order for them to win. WHICH IS A FANTASTIC THING! IT PROMOTES STRATEGY! I AM NOT CONDEMNING THIS METHOD OF FIGHTING! but.... it happens too quickly. Just too damn quickly for PvP to be fun for anyone, and be honest CM's.. its fun to know your screwing up alot of people, but are you really REALLY challenged with the current system?

3. DOC's - The Anti-CM. Master Docs were thought to only be good for Buffs, but not anymore. Now when your poison'd/diseased the smart person heads for one of these bad boys. Their basically the icecream man in SWG if you ask me, when one is around THEY ALWAYS have a croud around them. Really not much more to say aboutDOC's than that. PvP is run by 2 factions... Doc's and CM's

Conclude - Now I could be way off mark here, and most likely knowing myself, I AM. But every PvPer goes thru this, nightly. And every PvPer knows, its Be CM, or BEAT CM. Thats the only way to survive. And quite honestly, I dont wanna play CMWars, I wanna play StarWars. The way things are now, we'll be up to our Adam's Apples in CM's and DOC's before the end of March.

I dare say that most PvPers just can't deal with damage that is not a convention of the FPS environment.

You seem to have essentially hit the nail on the head.

Dont really know what more to say. Yes, CMs can own an opposing army. Yes, (good) Doctors can counter them quickly and effectively.

well i hate to say it but i no longer pvp as a cm due to the triple incap freaky tactics

i only pvp if its on home territory and our base is being raided (which happens at least every saturday)

however i have limited myself to taking on nasty beasts like krayts etc and levelling in pistoleer

until the opposing faction (in my case imperials) figure out how to fight cm's more imaginitavely so i can fight andplay to

loggingout or sitting dead and watching the action just aint my idea of participation

(first post lol i finnally got the guts been a cm over 3 months now)

Maybe its just the server I play on, but CM's struggle to make a great deal of impact in large scale PvP raids. It seems like EVERYONE is either TKM or has the Meditate line somewhere in their template and so whilst one guy is throwing diseases and poisons like his life depended on it, soon enough hes on his ass and Dizzy. Then the TKM's take a minute to cure themselves and are back at it.

But yeah, for those of us that dont play as a TKA diseases are ridiculous, theres nothing worse than sitting in a med centre for ages healing up.

Thank you for the great post and hmm CMWars i like that.

-------------------

The GCW has lost many good players, and some have left SWG. When 1 combat medic can rush a group of 10 buffed soldiers and then throw a 'stackable' disease/poison' at them. Then you no longer have Star Wars Galaxies, you have 'I'm dead but i'm hurting all of you so my friends can now tap you and you die' oh and 'I pwned u'.

So, if you happen to notice, that 50% of the people fighting you are tkm, rifleman, pistoleers, commandos, some ch, and the other 50% are CM's the war has left a bitter taste to most noble fighters. When a CM can stack disease/poison so even the best mind buffed player goes down in 2-3 ticks. You got a problem, and they can do this AOE.

I remember when you all cried 'P O K E M O N' wars. Well, seems we need a catchy phrase for this new war... hmmm 'MCCOY' wars... 'He's dead Jim, and he never fired a shot'

Oh and by the way, i loved the CH changes and supported them. I have seen a few CM's also posting that they are too powerful, and you all quickly shoot them down. Yes I have done my research, and tested and I am still amazed at the power 1 person can have to be able to weaken an entire military unit with 1 throw. While his friends wait safely at a distance letting the 'disease/poisons' do their work. Then they come in and heck could use a cdef pistol at that point to knock down the targets.

So, SOE, you want to keep you GCW active and alive. Best look at how many are not actively playing it now. You feared when everyone cried 'Nerf the CH' and you changed it for the better. Now you will start hearing silence from the battlefields again. Oh yes, a group can spread out, sure can, but when they are trying to take over a base, and have to be in the building doing it. And, of course one CM charges and targets the one member in the group thats outside the building, and still can get a AOE hit on all of you in the building. Oh yeah, that's really a good move. Sure, the CM died, but he hit the lone target from 45-60m first and did his job being able to weaken the 7-10 people in the building guarding the base timer.

Am i passionate about the GCW, you bet, nothing has been more fun then when I would fight against noble players like -DARK now FED, and a few other Guilds. Then the Combat Medic guilds showed up and well ruined it for both sides of the fence. But, now the only fun of the GCW is everyone is attacking NPC's only. Well unless your a CM guild and then they cry, no one is going overt anymore, yeah they are all chicken.

Thanks for letting me rant, just I love SWG and used to love the GCW, now, well I will go back to running missions again.

just your server, when you get hit with a 900tick poison or disease no amount of meditate will save you, none.
