Hi. Well, my first holo said Combat Medic, so here I am! heh heh. Actually, I'm looking forward to it (except giving up CH and Commando, that is ). A few questions: 1. Any tips for getting through Medic quick? Particularly the medicine crafting tree. Is it better to build the best stims you can make? Or just stay with A's over and over and over again? (I guess that was more than one question...) Somewhere around 4. or 5. Which tree in CM should I do first? The speed tree? Thanks.

The most suggested way to get through medic is to sit in the Cantina and heal the dancers or someone on a Tumble Macro. You can also try accompanying groups and healing them to gain XP. For the crafting trees the usual advice is just to grind on Bio Effect Controllers and the advanced version of the component. A quick search on the boards will pull up a number of macros for doing such.

The Ranged Stim A is fairly weak, however if you use some Advanced Components (particularly a good Advanced Liquid Suspension) you should be able to make some Ranged Bs that'll last you a bit, although you won't want to be stuck using those that long either.

I highly recommend getting the entire support line, on top of letting use better meds its also where you get the +Terrain Negotiation bonus that compensates for not having as many scout skills. Then you'll want to get the Ranged Healing Distance line as it will increase the power and range of your heals and poisons/diseases. The speed tree, I usually recomend saving for last.

Build Advanced Bio Effect Controllers. I believe they take tatooine fiberplast and lokian wild wheat. Also, to get through combat medic.....use area stims at a cantina. Careful...u may realize you will really like this profession

that's exactly how i leveled up (as Kavedawg recommended too), and for crafting you should get a bunch of crappy lok wild wheat and tat fiberplast, then grind ABECs. if you can, just purchase the meds you'll use from someone else (unless you finish the crafting tree first), you won't get the most of the experimentation benefits until master. just get to enough med usefor AoE stims, then spam them in crowded cantinas.

I suggest this, get a group of 6 or better and goto Dath. Do Rancor missions (you can get 45K mssions that are close to 66 and higher level missions). This benefits you because you can do 9k in medic exp in 3 hours easily. Buy crates of the best stim B's and C's and load good quality range stim A's. Through and heal away. Benefits cash,Rancor bile (being the cm in most groups I get it), good quality meat.

  • meat 3k+ (if you just doing it for holo-grinding sell it at 2.5cpu )

  • Rancor Bile great for poison

  • 45k min after 3 hours

  • Make sure you buy coffee (577 + mind equals 4-7 extra heals)

  • Get a surgical droid (mine is an advanced r5 with midecal skill 110 and 10 data and 10 storage)

  • Get a level 10 or lower pet trained with guard (yes it has saved me more times then not I befriend it to my friend and he sets it to guard me)

  • Find a good doctor to make you crates of stim b's experimented and hq (yes I know we are CM's but making a friends with doctors is good)

  • Find a local CM on your server master level to make crates of Range stim a's (when you first start. I use my own only so my heals are sparodic in quality)

  • Have fun and set up hot keys to let any other healers know your status and who you are healing (all you EQ players are familar with this)

Crafting EXP.

  • Get a food station of at least 26+ quality

  • 4 crafting kits (12.99 or better 14 is the best I have ever seen)of the chem and food

  • get grinding quality metal (4-6k )

  • Grind the biological control unit (this it is 12 units of material will be about 36 per unit)

  • goto the Artisan part of the forum and copy their macros if you must macro grind ( I do not recomend this but I can not stop you)

I am leveling slowly because i play 2 characters(weaponsmith and tailor rifle is my other)but with what i have described I have seen people do it in 2 days and less. I think I am defintly going to keep this proffession I worked so hard for my combat exp was a TKA and dropped it for CM.

Find another CM in training and tumble for each other. Or if you have a few guildies and/or friends willing to tubmle for you, get them to stand really close to each other and tumble. You can heal them all with normal stims until you reach Advanced CM Support. Then if there's a good CM crafter in your galaxy, order some AreaStimpackBs with +50 CM med use, and almost 600 power (it can be done, I just made them, and with only two advanced components).

Then use your Area stims on your group of tumbling friends. Take them into the cantina and have them tumble in there, so your area stims pick up the dancers too. With just two tumblers, I was getting 1k or more xp with every heal. With 19 tumblers you could get 8-9k xp with EACH heal.

Lol. Good luck! CM is so much fun...don't just give it up immediately. Try it, play it, love it...

Aye.

I did the tumbling thing with my best friend and my second account to get through normal medic but there is to much learning as a combat medic plus it is fun killing bols on Dant by your self

Do the Medicine use tree first. And get it to whatever you need in order to use low end area poison's. (Maybe at level 1 for A's?). Get some good kinetic ubese, and some buffs preferably. Go out in your favorite newb areas outside of Coronet or Theed or whatever. Gather 5-10 (or more) mobs. Throw AE poison, hit peace. Throw AE poison. Throw AE poison. Throw AE poison. Throw AE poison. Throw AE poison. get the idea? You'll move up the tree absurdly fast. Once you can use a good area poison B or C, your remaining 2 Med exp branches will take maybe an hour to finish. You can easily get 250 exp per mob per throw. Sometimes I'd get lucky and find 2 creature lairs right near eachother, and was getting over 3k exp per throw at one point.

I'd suggest getting 0044 first... you can now make and use area stim c's... go on a dant/dath hunt with some mates, you'll get great xp healing them and a ton of cash to boot.

To give you an idea of xp gain, I took up novice doc just after I mastered CM and went off on a hunt. Got 3230 Doc in one evening

Ambyrlin its a shame your not on Bria. We have 15.00 effective Fand C tools.

For the medic Grind I did just Stim A's--took me about 2 hours and I was doen with the whole tree

For the Healing xp. I have a couple of TKA buddies. We went too Lok, got Gurk missions from one of the Player Cities and All i did was heal heal heal. And an hour later I had capped at 30k max xp.
