I'm new to CM, so I would really appreciate some help please.

How do you setup your hotkeys or macrosfor throwing the different Single/Area Poisons & Diseases, etc ? I notice there is an /applypoison command, but is there some way to specify what type of poison ? For example, /applypoison action area <target> ?

Otherwise, wouldn't all our hotkey menus be filled with poisons and diseases you have had to drag from your inventory ?

Thanks in advance.

This is what I do. I put all of my different poisons and diseases on the second toolpane (ctrl+F2 will get you there). Put one of each type of poison and disease in each slot.

I then make a macro and call it mindareadisease for example. Assuming i have this disease on the second toolbar pane, in the first first slot, my macro looks like this:

/ui action toolbarPane01;

/ui action toolbarSlot00;

/ui action toolbarPane00;

The toolbarPanes go from 00 to 05, and the toolbarSlots go from 00 to 23.

I then go to options (ctrl+o) then controls. I then click on keymap, and then custom. I rebind my numeric keypad keys to map to each of my custom macros. I have it set up so ranged stim e's are /, area stims are *, healthpoison is 7, area healthpoison is 4, mind poison is 8, area mind poison is 9, mind disease is 5, and area mind disease is 6. I use 1 2 and 3 to switch weapons using the exact same type of macro described above. I also have - as my dragged incapped player macro. All this macro does is call dragincapacitatedplayer 4 times in a row, so you don't have to keep pressing it as much.

Hope this helps.

Doesn't this macro setup take just as much room on your toolbar if you just had dragged the poison containers in there in the first place?

Myself being a MCM and struggling Carb, I easily run out of room. I only use the most efficient specials for the Carb, with a slot taken with each type of carbine I have, acid, energy, heat, etc. I have one Direct Hit Poison on my toolbar for a quick pop while fighting. For me, I am usually in a group of close friends, so one of them pulls, and I follow with double clicking the different poisons I want to use directly from my Inventory.

I am usually able to get three or four of them stacked, if I need to, before any of these folks around need any medical attention. After I run thru my poisons, i close the bag, and then start blasting away and popping Area Heals. I have Area Heals on my 5 button, with /healdamage on 6 JIC I need to pop a heavy Stim D on someone in particular. Peace is on 7, and my first poison of choice is on 8.

I plan on setting up a Toolbar Pane Switching macro soon to select weapons, and stack multiple Poisons on one button, but haven't gotten around to it yet.

I think you are missing the point of the macro. Put all your crap on a pane you will never use. The macro switches to this pane, calls the slot with the poison on it, then switches back to your primary pane. If you have all 6 panes filled up with useful stuff and are still short on slot space, I would be amazed.
