4004 is definitely the prevailing CM template, most people will tell you that master is only worth it if you want to craft. Your Dots won't suffer much from this template.

I only make 75 Med use stuff becuase i have to get potency up on poisons and you can throw nice dots so you should have no trouble finding poisons

of course master is better but the extra skill points ain't hugely worth it.

Actually IMHO I'd say the extra effectivness at master is very worth it. The question really is, can you be effective with less. And that answer is yes. Works just fine for PVP, although in PVE I found being a dabbling CM lacking.

I did both 4004 and 4404 and didn't notice any speed difference after the 'halva fix' when they capped the CM throwing speed.

Edit: or the 'havla fix' too

Does havla still work when you throw poisons? Is it just capped now?

Throwing speed is capped. Havla does not work with throwing DoTs.

Thanks. I'm thinking of picking up CM for my BH missions. Since havla has no effect, I'm guessing the speed at which you can throw poisons and diseases is controlled solely by your speed modifier skill.

Red numbers are the speed line.

I have to agree with Pip. I am CM 4004. Dropped the speed line for Nov Doc. I can throw poisons just as fast without the speed line as when I had it. The only differance that I miss was the loss of Mind Heal.

I would say 4404 is must if u pvp. Mind heal really makes a difference when your m8s are full health/action no dots and 1 mind dying besides u....

I wouldn't pick up just that. After the Combat Rebalance, CM will be nerfed even further. The ranged proffession such as pistoleer and even semi-non combat proffessions such as smuggler will probably prevail.
