Thread: Disease bug?

Ok I've had this happen a few random times, and it's a bit annoying. I put my poison/disease on someone and watch em sit there til it wears off and never incap. Granted they get blackbarred some but thats it. Usually when this bug hits I pop on a mind fire and down they go, but last nite I jumped a guy and he had all 3 on him and just sat through them all. the stack was a single mind c poison1108 tick, single mind c disease 442 tick and a mind fire 96 tick. Usually the poison/disease puts em down after a tick or two from the disease, but the poison/fire puts em down really fast. There were no docs around healing it, was very strange.

Oh end of the story, I was unbuffed and unarmored so I died since I was dumb enough to wait around for him to incap. SO my pet wookie came over and killed the guy and his buddy for me

I really wish we at least got some melee defenses, the clothes ain't enough

CM poison/diseases can't incap a person alone. You can bring them all the way down to 1, but your gonna have to incap them yourself by some other method....yep....[cough]....yep

I've been dbed by poison/disease before, even when the attacker is not even around me. All they had to do was make sure it stuck and run off. It incaps me 3 times and I'm dead, end of stroy.

Nope poison/disease will drop em, so will my poison/fire. Have noticed it doesn't usually work if I mix up the types tho. If I throw a single poison and say an area disease, doesn't work too well usually, but 2 singles drops em every time.

Another cm in town had the same problem so we tested it some more, it is something about the Imp Outpost on dant. Works fine a bit outside it, but weird lag inside messed us up. Heck he diseased one of us and it never showed to have ticked, so we did a DB and presto, came out of the cloner fully black with all the damage that should've been done.

Not a big deal, since it seems to be isolated to laggy areas, just have to make sure someone else is around to finish em off. It worked fine on the doc who tried to rez a jedi we killed on dath, put a poison/fire on him and he went down nicely.

This is in my experience...poison/disease can incap...however, there is a catch. The disease will not incap if the victim's mind is at 1. So you need to get the disease to tick before the person's mind is completely gone. Another thing that has happened is that the poison will wear off after several minutes, but I'll still be in battle (all I have is rifles IV anda spraystick that against a stacker, will hit 1 in 1000 times) and it is only after their mind recharges past the 1 (because they are regenning now that the poison is gone) that the disease will finally incap them since the duration on the disease lasts much longer. Again, this takes several minutes and rarely happens.

You might want to try putting the disease on first and using a poison that takes 2 to 3 ticks to bring them all the way down, or use several, weaker poisons to make the tick increments shorter.

If the disease is capped, it won't be incapping. for example, I have 1000 mind, thus I cannot receive more than 999 mind wounds, even if I am buffed.

and there was much rejoicing...

I luv when my mind wounds cap, free mind heals all around This was just a lag issue I think, I do this every day so I got my poison/disease incap thing down pat, which is why I was curious. I don't even carry a gun anymore, and I luv my 800ish pvp rating too, since we don't get credit unless we actually attack em.....too funny. When I'm bored I sit in the base and nail teffers for fun, they usually die without ever even seeing me.

Wounding (including disease) works like this:

Max wounds on a single stat is your base stat - 1. So if you have 800 base health, you can't go above 799 health wounds.

Now, when you actually take wounds (such as a disease tick), the system first determines if you are at maximum wounds. If you are at maximum wounds, nothing happens. You don't take wounds or battle fatigue.

If you aren't at maximum wounds, 3 things happen. First, your battle fatigue will go up. Second, your "healthy" (colored) bar will go down by the wound amount. Third, your "wounded" (black) bar will increase by the wound amount.

The key here is that the "damaged" (white) bar remains exactly the same. Since the healthy part of the bar decreases, it is possible to get incapped from a disease, if you have sufficient pre-existing damage. If you have a healthy action bar of 50 (green bar), damage of 600 (white bar), and 50 wounds (black bar) and take 100 wound damage from a disease tick, you will immediately go to -50 healthy action (and become incapped) and your black bar will go to 150. However, if you don't have any pre-existing damage, your healthy portion of the bar will stop at +1 and you won't get incapped. Additionally, if your target is buffed and keeps the healthy portion high enough, they can have damage and still survive the disease. Eventually the disease will max out wounds at which point the wounds will no longer increase and the healthy part will no longer decrease due to the disease.

This behavior is different than poisons, which will always stop at +1 healthy stat regardless of pre-existing damage, buffs, or wounds.
