Thread: Combat Medics VS Everything Else
I also understand that we have to hand craft each use of poison, and for more range we sacrifice effectiveness, and etc.
But the main thing I understand is this: WE SUCK AT PVE.
Okay. A doctor goes out with a group. This doctor can revive the dead people. This doctor can cure the disease those bats on Endor hit you with. This doctor can easily fully heal all wounds the disease gave you. This doctor can cure the poison the spiders are hitting you with. This doctor can enhance EVERY RED AND GREEN STAT and make you invincible. And he can do it to every single person in the group. AND himself. He can do all these things in PVP as well, though perhaps not as effectively, he is still a valuable companion in PVE AND PVP.
Next, a combat medic goes out in a group. This combat medic can:
Area heal everybody.
Ranged heal one person at a time, which area heal can do anyway.
Run up hills sort of fast, if he is mastered (+10 TERRAIN NEGOCIATION, BABY)
Put a +300 or 400 depending on your resources, DOT on an enemy. Which is 30 damage per second. And doesn't stack.
Disease your enemy. Which is unbelievably useless. Even in PVP people die before the disease can really take effect. And in PVE, wow, it wounds your enemy. Too bad they don't regenerate
Use area of effect poison. Which causes everything in the nest to zero in on them and kill them.
Etc.
Basically, as of right now, combat medics are geared towards PVP. And that more or less just got nerfed. Fine. Great. I hate PVPing. But I enjoy my combat medic status. So I would really like seeing a reason I should be one. For instance, why don't poisons stack? And what about ranged status modifiers? Give me a dizzy poison to throw at something. Or blind. All I am asking is that somebody out there, PLEASE look at the combat medics from a PVE standpoint. We are useless! We can area heal which is NOTHING compared to ressurection. We can ranged heal which is NOTHING compared to +2000 to all red and green stats for hours. We can poison which is NOTHING compared to fire and bleeds. So we're over powered in PVP, wouldn't it be easier to simply make our poisons have a 75% reduction in power, like everything else, and then start adding PVE abilities?
on the doctor forums theres a note from the devs containing a bunch of different things 3 cm related ones worth mentioning is will investigate disease will investigate poison but that cant compete wiht wed like to add more terrain negotiation and burst run efficiency to the combat medic support line isnt that great news soon we can all be scout medics
hence why i said that our class was broken...and dots would jsut obscure any attempts to fix it...
it was in my post that i posted the first day of the big patch...
no one is gonna care anymore...
you people have got to be insane. You think a Master bounty hunter, or master pistoleer will fall to any combat medic? Only if they are stupid. Stopping shot hits me for 4-500 points. And the chance for a combat medic to get resisted is 10 times greater than a master pistoleer is to miss. If i get hit that hard twice, i have to worry about healing not poisoning. I find if i get resisted, wihout alot of good food or buffs im dead against other advanced combat classes. Its just about using your head. I can keep a combat medic from poisoning me because i have other skills that help me with dealing with that sort.
Everyone complains and complains, i have 20 people squelched from getting verbal abuse because i chose a different profession. I think there are alot of newb to the player killer scene. You veterans know, you red you dead. Trash talk gets you nothing other than a headache. And you fight to win, not to have a duel.
Stun/KD/Blind are these just useless skills? I use them.
Nothing stop anyone from picking the combat medic class. Just those that didn't have not used their heads on how to counter it.
cough i was agreeing with you, not arguing
Also, if damage is dropped 75% in pk, shouldnt we get a 75% increase in pvm? This could turn around and bite me but its just a thought.
