Thread: Since CMs are without a correspondent...
What ARE the top 5 issues for Combat Medic Anyway?
does it matter?
we arent supposed to send in more issues until the devs have gotten back with their responses..and texxie u of all people know we havent heard nothing from the devs...
whats the point of correspondents anyways? just another complete failure by SOE
Zarlors's a MCM as well as a MD...i wouldnt mind if he did send in a list of issues for us...but whats that gonna get us?
they didnt discuss LOS with us...they didnt even inform us that LOS on dots was live...
at this point excuse me but im a bit disillusioned about anything the devs do
*shrug*
Couldn't hurt, could it?
yup, i tend to agree with E for once ![]()
the devs just keep doing things without informing us at all. so i'm just going to turn into a suicide bombing greifer and concentrate on organizing my PA. its just not worth the time and effort to be ignored
nope doesnt bother me at all...i would love zarlor to dish outthe issues for us...
whats even more disturbing is that flithy quit and send his resignation into SOEa week and a 1/2 ago and SOE hasnt even realized it or if they have, cared enough to get us a new one...
But in all seriousness, I think we should get a Top 5 going. Even if only as proof that we have been keeping track of our issues, wether or not the Devs give a vrelts behind.
Texxie
BTW where is the link so i can send email to devs telling them
WE HAVE NO CORRESPONDENT
Perhaps one of them will, if we ever got a Top 5 for CM list, could also include a 'Will there be another CM correspondent?'.
Issues as I see currnetly on the boards: (not in any kind of order)
1. Schematic Typo Errors- Devs need to run through the CM Schematics and fix all the Typos in the CM med use and sub component requirements. Should be a very easy thing to fix, literally only a few minutes to change.
2. Addition of more usefull skills to the CM Support Line -Terrain negotiation and Burst run mods are a good start. I would like to see them spread out through the line though, instead of just at the master. Also, some defensive skill modsmight be nice to.
3. TEF status - We need more information about the TEF's that we have, the TEF's that other players have, and how and when they can be transfered. Healing some guy in the hospital and getting TEF'ed without even knowing it, or being given a warning kinda sucks.
4. Combat Que - Meds need to go into the combat que when we use them, just like any other combat action.
5. Revisit the idea of pet healing -While I agree that it should not be the sole source of Med XP for players, I think not getting ANY XP from it is a little drastic. Maybe cuttting it by half, or a two-thirds of what it previously was would much more tolerable.
And finally, and most importantly, WE NEED MORE COMMUNICATION FROM THE DEVS. Our Correspondant is gone, and we have not been submitting any new top 5's to the Devs, yet they are still making changes to our class without even a post saying "this is what we plan on doing."
Here are some more that I found in a post by Elanora:
7. PvE viability for CMs needs looking at...we totally suck at PvE...some of this could be remedied by attacking combat related items to support line.
8. CM components for dots need to be removed from med/doc and added to CM crafting.
9. DOT stat differences between servers need to also be looked at. While some variation is expected due to differences between servers, some of the difference are so large between servers that its almost unfair.
10. Mind damage is still a huge issue in combat...
11. Timers on heals and dots needs to be more accurate..You must wiat 4 secs followed by 6 secs of you must wait messages is not acceptable even more now since we will be required to know exactly when we can throw a dot....something akin to the you may heal wounds again message is needed...
12. AOE stims missing faction pets and not aoe healing if cast on the self needs to be resolved...
13) Force one of the DEVs to play one two-hour session as each profession, both basic and advanced, and see for themselves what can and cannot be accomplished by the casual gamer in that time.
guys toss ur top 5 issues on the
"issues for september..." thread
I can send an email asking about the CM correspondent position. Somehow I don't think it will do any good, though. My pet peeve issue for this set of Top 5 will definitely be Lack of Communication, though, so i will definitely include it in there. (And Ele, you don't want to put up a vote for more than just that issue on the Doc boards?)
*I* don't really want that position, though. For several reasons, not the least of which would be culling through the CM boards a lot harder than I normally do to make up another list of issues for votes to vote on and consider. I sometimes have a tough time keeping up with the Doc issues. But also because I consier my primary profesion being Doc, not CM. I strongly rely on CM for offensive capabilities, but I still consider even that to be a defensive manuever by using poisons to assist in taking down MOBs to keep my group up. And finally, I play a LOT more PvE thanI do PvP and a vast majority of the issues I see cropping up in CM have a lot to do with PvP. I'm not sure I can provide a completely clear picture of that aspect of the issues without dong a LOT more PvP myself to test out those issues on my own. Admittedly the issues are often explained well enough here on the forums, but since I'd be the one trying to paraphrase the issues and solutions and such, I like to have a clearer understanding to try and do it properly and without bias.
As for the usefulness of it. Two words: "Squeaky Wheel". And trust me, I have every intention of remaining an never-ending squeaky wheel. I may be a realtively quiet squeak, comparred to some of the flame-fests you see on the SWG Discussion board, but I intend to be annoyingly persistent.
After all we've had 3 (I believe) correspondents quit within the first 4 weeks. 1 other that had already quit their profession before even being accepted to the position. Since there are 32 professions (or was it 36?) we are looking at over 10% on the dropout rate. Pretty significant, IMHO. So that action doesn't seem to be working. Time to try a different tact.
