</sarcasm on>

Since medicines follow the same rules as guns for LOS, i think it's only fair that Guns follow medicine rules.

Every time any pistol, carbine, or rifle is fired it the user must suppy the following:

Resources:
10x Fungi
15x Chemical
8x Non-Ferrous Metal
25x Yavinian Fiberplast
25x Class 2 Liquid Petro Fuel
24x Tolium Reactive Gas
24x Class 1 Radioactive
28x Eleton Reactive Gas
28x Titanium Aluminum

If they do not have this, their gun will not fire.

Because after all, medicine = guns.

Don't forget to lower the range at which weapons can target and fire too while you're busy making poison "=" to guns..

Uh, so WE don't want it, and YOU don't want it in for PvP--then why is it still there??

You know you are pretty darn lucky that they gave you any means to do damage combo medic based on earlyer reports was ranged healing only by the way have you guys forgot you were ment for ranged healing not being a ultimate combat class if you want to shoot people be a pistoleer if you want to heal people at a range during combat be a combat medic just a little common sense people

Common sense? The profession is called COMBAT MEDIC. It requires Ranged Support tree from the, that's right, MARKSMAN profession. They are SUPPOSED to have offensive, med-based, attacks. They are the counterpart to the Doctors med-based defense.

Doctors heal, enhance, cure. Combat Medics heal, poison, and disease.

See the difference or has common sense left you as well?

It is fallacy to assume that we should do as much damage as a gun.
You're also completely ignoring the fact that you also have a gun you're shooting with between poisons.

"It is fallacy to assume that we should do as much damage as a gun."

CMs don't do anything close to the DPS of a gun.

Laser Carbine,maximum hit of 300damage

+ 30% powerup: 390

+ 7.5x Crippling Shot modifier: 2925

+ AR2 vs AR0 modifiers: 4563

Last i checked, poisons didn't have a max hit of 4.5k, and they don't DOTas fast as a laser carbine even doing crippling shot.

"You're also completely ignoring the fact that you also have a gun you're shooting with between poisons."

Which is paid for by skill points. I dont complain that Pistoleers can heal their own health pools inbetween shooting their gun, because they paid for it legitimately and should have that power.

the DPS and consitentcy of that carbine isn't too hot and the chances of getting that high of a hit are EXTREMELY rare. The DPS formula is (Max+Min)/(2*speed) so that carbine is most likely about 30-390 and most likely 4.5 speed.

So thats 420/(2*4.5)= 46 2/3 DPS. That goes to show you that while that lazer is GREAT at top end hits, its crap at the low end hits and more often than not its not going to be anywhere even close to a top end hit. A combat medic has the DPS of about 40 a second and can do it whether they are running, on the ground, dead, or anything else inbetween. Then add the gun that i am sure your firing inbetween the poison dots and its pretty easy to see that your not too far behind atrue combat proffession.Thats pretty good for a class that is obviously made for the support role.

Some of you say though that you took ranged support so you are a true combat class. Ranged support is not an offensive combat line, its pure defense with its defense bonuses and its skills. Its not the same as carbine specialist or rifleman in anyway way shape or form, but rather its like the exploration tree for bounty hunters, it gives them bonuses but it doesn't actually make themdo anymore damage.

and your DPS calculation, Bleda,is way off, not considering Speed skills and AP

for a Laser with AP2 vs an un-armored target fired by a Master Carbineer (70 skillmod, taken from swgcb.yogn.net, might be off):

420*1.56/(2*(4.5*(1.00-0.70)) = 242.7

vs light armorrating with 30% resistance:

(420*1.25/(2*(4.5*(1.00-0.70)))*(1.00-0.30) = 136.1

not counting special moves and stances and Carbineer get 5 moves with AE effect/damage.

You forgot to add the inability to heal 5 seconds.. You must wait to do that.. you must wait .. you must wait.. you must.. until they can heal

My thoughts;

Not yours.

Im actually combat medic and I really dont think poison should do has much damage than a gun?! We can stack a bleeding shot with our poison and still shoot after that.... What you want more? Oh yeah we can also Poison area heal at range and area heal.......

I don't see anything like that in this thread.

Im being sarcastic first of all with my original post, but there is a real imbalance when i a CM spends these kinds of resources to have far, FAR less DPS than a simple 1 tree prereq rifleman. A rifleman has 29 points of prereqs vs a CM's 106.

Im a master weaponsmith and when i look at this list im blown away. These packets of poison are not that much easier to make than a T21 rifle. With weapons your stuff is either in the galaxy or not. But with CM medicines you have to have harvesters always on different planets, this is a freakin' nightmare and expensive. Roundtrips to Lok are what, 4.5k?

Im obviously joking when i say gun usersshould pay for bullets. What i am saying is that CMs do less DPS, have less range, have more prereqs, and have a much harder time crafting their own weapons. And all these are facts.

46 2/3 DPS is without counting the special move modifiers, powerups, slicing, etc. And they are killing ppl in single hit.

Yes, we can add the gun to fire between the dots. That means we are investingextra points to the weapon skill and we SHOULD do better than the so-called supporting role.
