Im fairly new to SWG and CM and looking for endgame advice before I go any further. I plan to go Overt when I rank high enough and curious to know how Combat Medics fare in endgame PvP. Im also curious to know how important race and stat placement becomes. Im not sure if people place their stats differently for PvP and PvE but Id like to avoid minor bumps in the road if possible. Im not in a major rush to level but being the perfectionist Id rather not make a mistake at creation. There is alot to explore in this game and I just need a little push. Thanks for taking the time to read this and if you can help me out an even greater thanks.

well, we used to be pretty insane pvp wise, but that just got nerfed. as far as endgame goes, look into pickin up pistoleer as well, if you're interested in pvp. otherwise, you're gonna be sol with CM alone. as far as stats go, if I could do it all over i would NOT have picked human. i'm not sure about the class abilities, but you should choose one that gives mind bonuses and health bonuses if possible. As a medic, regen stats on health and action are USELESS since you heal yourself. these are constitution and quickness i believe (con for sure, not positive about the quick). buff up your strength and stamina instead and lower con/quick as low as possible. use remaining points to jack your mind pool up a LOT since mind damage is king in pvp currently.

pick up artisan for survey early on, since resources are of utmost importance. get involved with a PA to help you out with resources and leveling. Heal players in large hunting groups for decent XP or chill in the med center and heal peoples. dont pay an npc for training, find someone else and tip them for their troubles. and read these boards often. the devs have a habit of changing our profession without letting us know, so be prepared for that

as far as pvp goes, the CM isnt really a solo character. if we however have people to fight alongside we are lethal in the highest regard. if i'm kept safe by other players to toss area mind poisons, I win

I use human aswell.. good choice for me .. as he said.. drop your con and stamina to the very bottom. .you won't need'em max out willpower.. I used carbineer myself.. CM alone is all but useless in pvp .. as we just got nerfed (as mentioned above) and they don't tell us b'out these nerfs

Overall good class. It's missing the survey ability which is beyond crippling for templates.. as another 15 skill points for novice artsian to do something we need for our class is stupid imo.

My thoughts;

Not yours.

The major benefit as a CM and being human is that you can join either faction and get the real benefits of that faction. If you restart your character asan alienbeware that the Imperial faction costs are MUCH higher for non-human species. Rebel factions costs are the same for all.

I started Human/Marksman. Im training up Pistol now and almost made Expert. I didnt know any better and I have the default stats. Ive just began to start training in the medical field and wanted more info before I went too far. Im not sure if how I started is a mistake but this is where Im at. If CM isnt the best solo PvP template, I knew that it wouldnt be, what is? I chose CM because I like to be somewhat useful to the group. I dont care really if Im not the best, but I like to have my presence felt and missed when Im not there. Sorry to hear that the class was semi-toned down but in games like these I dont expect any less. So am I on the right track?
