After achieving Master Medic, I'll have 6 skill points left. I'm working towards Master Rifleman so I'll have the choice of spending my final skill points on either Novice Combat Medic or Novice Doctor. Will I gain any useful skills keeping in mind that I won't be able to advance any further?

No point in Combat medic unless you want ranged stim A and single target poison pack a, Better off going with doctor for the experimentation and the state cures( the limited it has for novice )

Thanks for the feedback!
If I sacrifice some other skills I would be able to get one square beyond novice... Does this change anyone's opinion? What square would be most beneficial and why?

Nope, still go with Novice Doc, the extra experimentation is all you'll need to make it the best chice.

I agree with the concensus, go Doc if you are staying with Rifleman. I was in a similar situation between master pistoleer/supplement with CM, but after trying some high lvl CM poision and the ranged/AoE heals I have decided that Master CM is the way to go. Great for PvP and with a few lines in pistol in addition to poision and healing, good for PvE too.
