Hey, I don't post here a lot (I think i have once or twice maybe).
Basically, i think the spider venom has completely ruined the combat medic profession. The fact that any noob with any components can now get a 700+ tick whatever is rediculous! One of my guildmates found some +318 spider venoms. That's at least a 640 tick without ANY Experimentation.
I spent hundreds of thousands of credits for old resources, rare things, good resources, mined my own stuff, and everything else, and now i feel like i wasted since the same effect can now be gotten for killing a single mob. The ONLY thing that has to be worried about is potency now, but it's rediculous. I'm pretty sure i can get a disease that i can throw 96 meters and have it tick for 800+ with no fatigue with this stuff, and that's an area disease.
Combat medic is going to turn into a new flavor of the month, I already see scores more than I used to, and the fact that all group tef like hobags is disheartening.
For the record, i actively pvp with my guild, i fight overt, and I don't group tef. But now with this stuff you'll see any jackass running around with master CM who didn't put any effort into getting it (you can master the entire profession in about 5 hours including crafting, and that's if you don't push things real hard. I bet you can do it in 3 hours if you tried and had people help you with the medical xp)
I understand that we are pretty gimped in pve - we have lowest DPS of any class, and we use a lot of skill points, but for gods sakes we shouldn't be able to wipe out an entire ham bar in 30 seconds. With all of this new insane spider venom and crazy things that will be made, we basically need a 25% pvp reduction, but even then it's still rediculous. You can stack areas and singles on someone and still achieve at least a 500 poison tick on the person.
I like being a combat medic, it's a very unique profession and mind heals are infinitely useful fighting pvp and pve, but i've never considered dropping it before until now when any newbie can go to the genosian cave, kill a spider, and suddenly do more damage with a single poison than i could in the months of being master, and they don't even need good resources to do this.
Feel free to flame me or whatever, but this new stuff is rediculous. I broke 800 damage single ticks with a low end +115 spider venom. Give me those 318's i'll be hitting close to 1500 singles and 1000-ish area poisons. That is a serious problem.

The devs are moronic for having it drop as frequently as it does, which is why the drop is getting nerfed. This doesn't do anything tho for the people who have been having them and all their friends fill their inventories on 90% loot drop. I have some of this stuff coming in tonight hopefully and i'll let everyone know what my damage is like with it.

nobody has any comments about this? i find that hard to believe. I haven't pvp'd in about a week because of this crap.

I'll throw in my support on this subject.I was the first master cm on ahazi
and have been in the profession on and off ever since launch. The current dots that are able to be produced not only undermine the efforts of incredibly hard working cm's like phelan but also completely throw off any balance in the current gcw. Even with the loot tonedownthese components are still debilitating the game.

on one hand, the venom is a bit of CM love. on the other hand, the hand, it never should have been put in game.

how proud were you when you crafted your first fully advanced (500 tick for me) area poison? i was very excited. this venom crap really cheapens the masochistic dedication us MCMs have "enjoyed" thus far.
***this common loot drop should be removed, or made "legendary" and rare. it only fosters an influx of pvp folk who will likely abuse the power of this item until they use up their backpacks of spider venom and drop CM when they have to hunt resources like the rest of us. the drop rate has to be changed NOW to prevent hoarding, NOW.

They didn't tone them down a hell of a lot. Pre-hotfix they were 115 base ranging to 400's. Post hot-fix they are 90 base ranging to upper 200's. These still produce insanely overpowered dots that further imbalance an already incredibly inbalanced class.

anyway, i was talking to a dev the other day and told himthe stats of my poisonthat i madewith modified DMs and 169 power spider vemons... he said they toned the loot down, but i'm not sure how common they are on live
i agree that spider venoms seem too common though, in relation to their power. prehaps they can make the product using these PvE only... but that would really piss off some hardcore CM PvPers ![]()

Im another long time master CM and that new stuff is just insane. In PvP with a decent spider venom I do 744 mind ticks. Thats with an area poison. With AoE mind disease im getting a base of 250. That was with 2 moderate sucesses. CM's with this new stuff is just ridiculous and just AoE itself is ridiculous. I agree with phelan that this is plain stupid.
