Thread: Combat Medic Pending..
Hi guys,
Dallius Chilastra/Tatooine/Mos Entha here wandering..on combat medic I am currently OCI IV, Pharmology IV, Survey IV, FA II.
I am at the part of medic, where now I just heal get massive exp, and max FA and Diagnostics in a day..I am wondering..how do you get all that combat expierence? When I heal and shoot, on and off, I get like 11 combat exp at the end of the battle.
Compared 11 CE to 20,000 for Ranged Spec. or w/e that is a lot of killing, or do we master the combat medic first, then just fight and not heal?
Also I here everyone saying Combat Medics are bad because you have to travel all over the galaxy, to gather the materials..I am wondering..isn't that part of the game, that requires patience, and is fun?
Maybe I am just not seeing the picture if somone could clerify for me all the pros and cons to a CM I would appreaciate. Thanks Mike
As for getting ranged support 4, that is tough. I would say the best bet is if you have the SP, to pick up a novice elite combat class and fight for a while. Your combat experience will get there eventually, although it can be slow when you aremoreinterested in becoming a combat medic instead of a master pistoleer.
As for pros and cons of combat medics, there really are too many to really list. However, a few of them off the top of my heads:
Pros:
-Arguably the best healers in the game
-Access to strong DoT weapons
-"Free" terrain navigation (relevent if you don't have scout skills)
Cons:
-Very low defenses (a master dancer has more defenses than a MCM... seriously...
-High SP cost
-Relatively difficult to harvest resources/find medicines
-Low monetary income
There is also a post "what works for combat medics" (I think it's on the main page) which lists some good things about being a combat medic. Well, more like it lists what is not a bad thing about being a combat medic.
However, much like everything else in the game, it all depends on personal play style andwhat you are looking for. Some people think that it being "Relatively difficult to harvest resources/find medicines" is actually a good thing, and the hunt is the fun in being a combat medic. Some dislike having "access to strong DoT weapons", as they think it unbalances the game or makes combat too easy.
I would say just try it out (don't judge it until you get master support though, as that is when the profession really starts). If you like it great. If not, well, that's why you can drop skills. ![]()
