unfortunately I didn't go to the medic panel (I was busy helping Tiaga become green), but I did ask some devs (outside of official fanfest activities... yes, in a bar) about CMs.

I told them how CMs agree that some type of defense against CM is good, but a straight 75% damage reduction PvP is not reasonable. they agree that something needs to be done, but have not given me details on what it will be.

I would be interested on what happened in the panel as well

There is a mind poison mitigation spice set for the smuggler revamp. It was announced a while ago and is no real secret other than how much of a mitigation and the "downer" effects the spice will have.

It still surprises me how many people still dont know this.

"The great Eikmms has returned from Fan Fest. He has heard the words of the Dev's.....

First thing CM WILL NOT BE NERFED. ( Dev's stated CM is not to powerfull)

Armor will be nerfed to death.

Weapons will be nerfed.

Professions will see great change after the combat balance. ( except CM lol)

and Dancers will soon own the galaxy lol !!!"

I took this from a thread on the Gorath server board.... Very interesting.

You can see the whole thread here, it's kind of amusing actually.

It's pretty funny how many of the people on Gorath think they are CM experts b/c they get poisoned and diseased perioidically...

But then, we see dozens of those people on all servers here on this board. They're called trolls. Fortunately they have stopped posting so much on our forum!

Going into full speculation mode, I suspect that we will see great change. If mind becomes "not special", that instantly reduces our offensive capability. Granted, rifleman and heavy swordsman are probably hurt more by this, but think about a world with only health and action poisons. That gives you some idea of what the rebalance might mean offensively.

Now look at the other side. If mind is now healable, it makes our area stims the single most useful defensive item in the game. Sure, there will still be uber-Bs (presumably), but if I can shoot off a 1600 point heal to my entire group, they can continue to shoot (which they probably do better than healing anyway). The only limitation to our amazing healing will be whatever specials system they put in place to limit infinite healing and specials spamming.

So I expect CMs to basically be turned upside down from where they are now - becoming defensive powerhouses with a limited offense instead of offensive powerhouses withlimited defense (since mind is all that matters now).
