Thread: Im not trolling GARVA

im simply asking a question. there was GREAT debate going on in that forum, no flaming or nothing. I learned alot and stood to learn alot more from the combat medic side of the debate. however when you locked the thread you kept the forum from continuing. thanks alot.

Almost by definition any post with "trolling" or "nerf" in the subject is trolling. But, for the sake of argument...
I am assuming you are referring to the "Explain to me why CM shouldnt be nerfed" thread. Well, to begin with, any post which challenges somebody to defend their position or profession is by definition a troll. (Definition from an internet dictionary, I can try to look it up but it's been a while.) Furthermore, some snippets from this "GREAT debate" are:
-"NO RIFLEMAN/TKA/FENCER can single handedly destroy 40 players in 12 to 20 seconds." (extreme exaggeration. If a combat medic can defeat 40 players, it will most certainly not be in 12-20 seconds, no matter how strong your pre-nerf venom is, it is not possible to hit that many players inthat fast unless they are conspiring with you.)
-"no you'll just have 40 players running around that can't actually kill each other because of the situation with buffs/armor/food and stacked defences..." (also inflammatory, criticizing defense stackers, and the way other people play their characters)
-"'I wanna be uberrrrrrrrrrrr and noone else can be either'" (the poster was mocking and insulting other people)
-The post starting "so let me get this straight" (these are known issues which we keep bringing up to the devs attention, and this is beating a dead horse)
I can continue, but you get my point. The initial post may or may not have been trolling (that is a separate debate). There might also have been the beginnings of a healthy conversation. However, it became a flame fest in which very little productive was being said. As such, GarVa locked it.
P.S. I'm not 100% sure, but Ithink questioning locking and deletion of threads is also explicitly mentioned as being an example of trolling in the usage agreement for the forums. I'm not completely sure of this though, so don't quote me on that.
Now if you will excuse me...
