We only seem broke because we are...

If the goal is to make CM's money though, there are better ways to do it. For example, making doctor cures require CM subcomponents (like area stims require doctor subcomponents), or making DOT weapon power ups.

Like I said, your idea is a good one. It has the benefit of being one of the more innovative ones. But as I said, I can think of many ideas which have a similar effect but are more interesting in my opinion.

I don't mean to shoot down your idea. I'm just explaining why it probably won't take hold or capture the interest in the combat medic community. If you have any other good ideas, please share them though, I'd love to hear about them. (It sure beats the cliche nerf cries.)

Edit: Incidentally, I think combat medics are thefourth poorest elite class, surpassed only by squad leaders (who also have much cheaper requirements), merchant (who also have very few requirements), and politican (I'm sorry, ouch).

Even tip dependent entertainment based classes make more than a pure combat medic does, I think. Very sad.

Debuffing is a good idea, and has been talked about before. The general consensus last time it was discussed (2 months ago, I think) is that it had huge griefing potential though, and would potentially be very unbalancing given the state of buffs right now. Not to mention that the demand for debuffing is almost non-existant (only in very special cases is it needed), so this is not a viable source of money.

Good thinking though.

but what if its not a thing you could apply to another person?

Like you Make this stuff a sell it on the bazaar. not like stims..more like a muon type thing sept no-downer.

Maybe have it where you can have a choice on whitch stat to take off when you click and drag on it?

Like I said, this is a very limited market, and not really a viable market. I can count the times I have wanted a debuff on zero hands, and I'm sure that any given person wouldn't have wanted this kind of item more than a couple times at most. Only when:

1) Your current buffs are about to wear out

2) The new set of buffs are weaker than the old ones, and

3) You can't really wait for the buffs to actually wear out (which is difficult with #1 in effect)

would this be useful. How often does that happen?

A ton of times. I've seen it happen alot since i'm a master doctor. they ether wait out 20 minutes for it to go away or die and ask for a rez.

Well, not being a dedicated buffers, I guess I haven't experienced all the intricacies of the buff market. If you say there is a demand, I'll believe it even though it seems somewhat counter-intuitive to me. Regardless though, unless the effect was more offensive than supportive (such as a combative debuff item), I don't really see the combat medic community going for this. At least I personally am not really interested, as I can think of more interesting ways for the devs to add to the combat medic community (such as innoculations, state packs, limited use schematics, cross-stat poisons, debuff weapons, etc.).

By the way, the doctor community might want to think of an alternative solution to this problem. For example, rather than having the power of the buff in regards to overriding one, have it be power * remaining time. So a moderate buff which is new is 'stronger' than a strong one which is running out. That's how I personally would solve the problem you describe. I guess in theory you could also make it /conscent required, to prevent griefing if that was really an issue as well.
