Thread: Noob CM questions? can you offer some help?

I recently started another account and mastered doc mostly for the buffs for my main account. But lvling through doc i found that being a medic in combat was actually pretty fun, and a nice change of pace. I decided to also do CM on this character to make him a playable real threat in combat but am ignorant to who exactly CM works. So i have a few questions....



  • What is the diffrence between poision and disease?

  • What are diffrent situations where i would use disease vs. poision?

  • Are stim gernades at master CM lvl comparable to what i can already make as a master doc?

  • I know alot of people follow the doc/Cm template, but what other weapon professions are best to take up on the marksman lvl?

I really appreciate your help, thanks alot in advance.

I encourage you to read the FQ sticky at the top. Agent did an excellent job.


Poison does Damage, Disease does wounds (that's the short answer)


Poison is used in PVE, Disease is good for PVP, as it is not easily healed in the field


CM is good at crafting CM only stims (ranged/areas).A doc will always make a better stim C than a CM, all things being equal.


I like Pistol/CM. The bleeds stack well with Health Poison. Rifle + Mind Poison in PVP would be great, but both shots drain your mind pool...So make them count, or choose another combo. Poisons + Knockdown in Carbineer is also nice...If you can keep your foe on their back, and let the poisons do their work, you are going to have a good time. It all depends on your Playstyle.

All the researchI've done points to pistols being the best weapon for CM. You need good spped to get your heals and such in and, and even though CMs can do distance healing, rifles put you out of effective rangeand even though they do god mind attacks, those specials are to costly to team with CM stuff. Carbines look to be ok, but not as good as pistols as they primarily attack action. Pistols primarily go for health, so that helps us more.


One of the templates I currently have in mind is:



  • Marksman - 1/4/1/4

  • Medic - master

  • Combat Medic - master

  • Pistoleer - master

According to the character builder I use, this is a possible combo.
