Thread: Potential MBH\MCM with some questions

Hey all,

I'm currently Master Bounty Hunter and Master Carbineer. I'm looking at potentially dropping one or the other to go MCM. I currently have 4/0/0/0 combat medic, and am really interested in going full on CM.... My questions are:

I have a hard enough time killing Jedi as it is with Master Carbineer... Would going MCM help this at all? I mean, I know the healing efficiencies and stuff would rock, but I don't want to lose my ability to you know, kill them... I've been reading some threads, some of which say that MCM/MBH is one of the best templates you can be to hunt. Now, should this be benificial, I would have no idea which of the two to drop. I was looking at threads, and if I want to stick carbineer, a lot of people are saying to go 0/4/0/0 carbines... Is this a good thing? I've been looking at the SWG Profession calculator that I've found, and it looks like it would be decent, but I would lose a lot of abilities (naturally, of course).

So, if possible, could someone maybe explain to me what would be better about going MCM, MBH, Carbines 0/4/0/0? I've also considered going Pistoleer 0/0/0/4 for stopping shot, but I'm pretty undecided (also the whole grinding it thing would kind of suck).

So, any thoughts or considerations?

It all depends on how you use it. If you're really having a hardtime with MCarbs maybe it'snot for you, and you should try a different temp.

The Debuff abilities of MCM make it desirable when fighting Jedi, but you will use a lot of mind to deliver those debuffs. MBH MCM is a very powerful template, though.

Its not so much of a hard time with the carbines profession, its getting them to hit hard enough.

If I drop MCarbs, which line should I keep?

Damage output is going to be definitely worse as MBH/MCM, but it's offset by the dots/debuffs. IMO, the best line of Carbines if you're going MBH/MCM is x4xx. It gives you +50 General Ranged Acc, +10 Carbine Acc. You're going to need all the accuracy you can get with MBH/MCM, because MCM is essentially a support prof. That should work well for you. Yeah, there's no root, but you've got E-Drain on MCM which is an extremely powerful snare. Combined with a KD, you'll control them well.

Duelist Stance, Electrolyte Drain, Thyroid Rupture, Traumatise, Hemorrage, Adv.Critical Shot, your bag of tricks is maxed out this way, and if you keep x4xx in Carbineer you can alternate Crit and Legshot for some really impressive damage. I kept 4xxx Rifleman, as I prefer rifles. Dont worry about xxx4 Pistoleer, when you have a snare like E-Drain roots aren't needed, and neither is the added def fron that line when you have duelist, and when it comes to grouping you'll find the MCM playersare most sought after. Most Jedi opt for the MDef, MLS, and EDrain, Thyroid and the regen debuffs let you dictate the fight, and your heals are beyond what the Jedi could hope for. Word of warning however, beware the Power Wielders, those templates are gonna be your toughest fights.

When fighting a jedi i make sure i always have thyroid rupture, traumatise (as its mind regen slowing - lots of pressure from heals), and both fire & poison. i'd only throw a electro drain if i knew they didn;t have FR1 as it breaks it. paralyze during fights is nice to give time to heal, get some distance in kiting & epecially to get a re-apply of thyroid and dots.

Don't forget they all have their jedi goodies like Aura and Valor running on macros. A well-timed Paralyze will turn a poorly prepared jedi to mush.

actually i like the root, and with pistols 0031 you get both tier one root and intimidate shot. also don't worry quite so much about damage with this templat...i find the trick is controling the fight and it's a great temp for doing that. in terms of using dots, i find it's a trade off, the dots do give you nice ticks however i sometimes leave them out so i have paralyze at my disposale, and dots will break my paralyze when i'm in the heat of battle however, if you time things right with the dots you can have them tick at exactly the same time and it's tough, but keep track of when they tick and you can still use your paralyze as well.

so with debuffs and electro and dualist stance and root and intimidate shot and the right foods at the right time.....it's a lot of fun also armor break resist slice at 75% for all armor is a must i feel. adk'd even better as shock absorbants are hard to find on my server....

if you drop carbines but want to keep a little, you should DEF keep 0400, get's you a second snare and an increased damage output.

If you want to go Pistols..... go either 0004 for the root.... or go 0400 for the acc and disarming shot (great to use before popping a duelistic stance or a heal)
