Well I'm soooo close to unlocking my 2nd char I've begun planning wot to do with her.
SO I've done all the artisan crafting profs at one point or another and now I intend to turn to CM. Due to my recent successes as a chef I have managed to procure a lovely 12point suit (+24!!) CM exp. However I'm trying to work out my point allocation system. I need a vendor for obvious reasons but I want my CM to at least assist in PVE (not bothered about PVP) I wanted swrods for the lovelyintimidate and mind hits but think rifle is more cost effective, How do commercial CMs allocate their points? Is it worth having nov merchant on my Jedi for as long as poss? (I'm not gonna go all the way with him just wanna play for fun
)

I'd suggesttwo differant sets:
PvE poisons, Area B's, SIngle C's, Area C's (All damage types)
All points into effectiveness. Try to obtain 125 potency or so
PvP poisons, same as above but only mind poisons
Potency 200-220
Split between range and effectiveness.

My 2 accounts are set up like this:
Account 1: Main toon: Master Doc/CM.
Jedi: I use for lots and occasional fun
Account 2: Main toon: Master Merchant/Smuggler (Merchant rules with me being a 12-point CM crafter hehe)
Jedi: This jedi is just a n00b I unlocked back in January for fun (my other is from Early December), I use him for Lots, Master Rifle/TKA for krayt hunts also.
