Hello guys,
I just started out CM last week, last night, i was able to get to 4404. I went out hunting with a group of friend and...
Poison and disease is just great, especially accompany with rifle; However, I noticethat I was much useful at all in PvE hunting
WIth buff and armor, I wasn't needed at all for the group, their Health and Action rarely go down. Once in a while, I just throw out the Area Stim to heal 30 damage, just to make me feel useful in the group. I really enjoy this profession, and plan to keep RM/CM template. Can anyone give me suggestion of how to be more effective in PvE? Or are we just a pure PvP Profession?

I was only able to use mind heal twice in 3 hours, but that's true, Mind heal is a great gift for us CM

I have noticed that CM in PVE is kinda blah. Lots of skill points and only good returns in PVP. I tried to poisen the sith thugs and it seemed like it never ticked. I have poisen that ticks for 600+. Heh oh well. I'll keep it for pvp, just need to finish rifles

It all depends on what your pve'ing..... Goto the Corvette, the DWB... CM's becomes pretty darn important in "extreme PVE"....
Seems like for instance everytime I goto the corvette with a group... 2 things happen.
1. in 30 minutes I will have completely black bar'ed my mind from mind healing
2. I start a "stim IV"... where I just keep tossing area stims till I turn blue....
CM can be awesome in PVE, but don't go group hunting nuna's expecting to be of much help......

CM is useful in PvE me(swordsman) and my friend(CM) did the combat quest for phase 3.
He keep me heal and he did stack 3 mind poisons in the tugs, the 3 poisons combine tick for around 1k of dmg making easy for me a swordsman to kill them, evenhe kill 2 with a spraystick went they where at zero mind.

another problem you are running into is the profession you chose to couple CM with. as a rifleman i can tell you that our 'hand-howitzers' are going to outdamage ANY poison or disease especially in PvE.
my dps as a rifleman would make even the best crafted pre-nerf-uber-12 point-CM poison look useless. firing off strafeshot2 or headshot3 once per second for 2-3.5k damage will make a poison that ticks for 1k plus damage..once every ten seconds, nothing more than waisted credits.
now when i played a TKM/CM 4004...now THAT was fun. THAT was useful. adding DoTs to TKM, the DoTs the profession so sorely needs...perfect combination in my view.
and as it was pointed out, if your group is in no danger of dying, there is really no need to bring a medic of ANY kind on the mission.
take that same group and drop them in the middle of the Death Watch Bunker, and the CM becomes the MVP.

hi
I have just entered the ranks of CM and can only echo the views of above. In 'normal'PvE my CM has no use whatsoever when compared to MSwords, but when it comes NS especially soloing elders those DOTs on the mind really do help....that said I dont find that elders are really worth the trouble, too much damage to armour,to much bf gained and loot if any has been v poor lately when compared to protectors/spellweavers etc....there again I may be just unlucky..

I feel your pain. The last time I felt like an extremely important group member for my healing skills (not rez skills) outside of an occasional corvette run was...hm about Januray? Sometimes I organize unbuffed guild hunts so I can finally heal again, but any time we hunt for profit...no can do.
However I trust that after the Combat Revamp, Combat Medics will be needed for their healing skills (and maybe poisoning skills too) in PvE again. No matter what some people think, the Devs are not stupid, their priorities are just sometimes...a bit strange, but most of this has been dictated by marketing I think ("We need Jedis in Game! Jedis sell!" "We need space combat. Space sells!").

I find CM to be one of THE most powerful professions out there. I can solo any Mob while Unarmed, unbuffed, and ungrouped.
Healmind + 1000 Base Area stims pretty much can't be beat.
Add a 65m Range Stim that heals for 2k-3k, and I'm feeling good with myself.
Lastly, being able to poison the entire Tusken Bunker/Nyax Cult/Rogue Corsec at the same time, how can it be better than that?

Go after the big stuff to feel more useful. Tusken Executuioners, Night Sister Elders, Krayts, that sort of thing. CM rocks keeping tanks alive and while it doesn't seem like your doing much tossing disease on em, check their ham as they go down, putting 60k or more worth of wound damage is a pretty nice chunk out of a 300k ham. Usually I toss a couple diseases on em the kick back and mind heal the tanks and toss areas, we can got hunt anything we want for a few hours with no worries.
Heck even if someone does die I can just rez and rebuff and off we go again

Cm is where it's at for PvP. But it has great uses for some certain high end pve.
Namely ancient krayts, dark jedi masters, corvette and dwb.
