Hi Elenora and Combat Medics! Thanks for the great posts! They've been tremendously helpful for this first time MMRPGamer.

I came up with an idea to give me a SWG avatar I would be most pleased with. It is important to me to be able to more than hold my own in combat. Right now, the Combat Medic profession is rife with bugs, making them very inept at using Poisons and Diseases. A very common complaint of the profession is that it is a major pain in the ass crafting medicines for damage and wounds. I did some extensive research to come up with a new plan. Downside = I will not be a crafter of medicines - my plan is to buy them outright from a Master Doctor. I will need to find a Master Doctor at some point and hopefully secure her/him as a trade partner. I will pay handsomely for the goods! My plan to make money is easy - kill stuff. I want to be a Master Pistoleer!

What this means is that I will be a hybrid Doctor/Combat Medic. I will be able to heal quickly and from afar as well as resurrect from the Dead should I follow this plan (I think):

Master Medic - 77

Novice Doctor - 6

Master Surgeon - 14

Novice Marksman - 15

Master Pistol (Marksman Tree) - 14

Ranged Combat - 14

Novice Combat Medic - 6

Range Heal Master - 14

Range Heal Speed Master - 14

Master Pistoleeer - 63

Total so far = 237

Figured I would use remaining skill points to climb up three steps on the Rifleman Tree within the Marksman profession since I already had to use 15 skill points to obtain novice marksman.

Total now = 249

What do you think? I don't have to survey and sample and dig, I don't have to craft, but I can heal for damage and wounds and even bring players back to life. Not to mention I can heal from far away and quickly.

My favorite thing about this plan is achieving Master Pistoleer. Mastering the pistol looks like a ton of fun, IMO. I can make big bucks doing destroy missions to help fund the purchasing of the stimpacks and resurrection kits I will want for our group. Not to mention the armor and blasters and swords we can buy for our avatars.

All comments/suggestions/advice very very welcome!!!!!

Awesome journeying to all,

It's a decent load-out, But keep in mind that buying stuff off the bazzar can be hit-or-miss. I know you aren't too thrilled by the poision/disease line of CM (neither are the rest of us) but it's almost guaranteed you won't be able to buy them off the bazzar. The market just isn't there now.

There's a lot of non-crafting doctors out there, and rez kits can usually be found for sale. I'm guessing that's why you took doctor at all. That will be OK.

Ranged stimpacks, I've never bought packs on the bazzar, but I've never sold any either, so I can't say how that will work out.

Those extra points you had might be put into some doctor skills, better self-healing can't hurt.

see you in the med center.

nice template sounds like fun...no crafting is interesting...might be a pain depending on how developed the med market on ur server is...

my only comment would be drop ranged speed for medic support...low CM med use will mean you are limited to what packs you can use and ull be stuck with low level ones...I have always been one to believe better heals slower then smaller heals faster...not to mention more economically, ull burn less packs.

I chould see you going with speed over med use if u planned to just use ranged stims as a stop gap until you could close on ur target for more powerful stim Ds heals. In this case since u arent relying on ur ranged as you main heal, speed might be more important that using better packs slower...

I personally rely on my ranged stims and thus would go with the medic support like granting me use of higher packs then sticking with speed...remember you need to have med use to use the high level packs like AOE heals...(once they link aoe heal to CM use and off doc med use)

Otherwise i think your templete sounds fine...pistoleer will be fun and ull be powerful enuff with it that you can forget about dots since they will be dead before the dot really effects the target

Thanks a ton fellow healers/death dealers!

I'm convinced that I should go with Combat Medic Support in place of Combat Medic Speed.

Additionally, I'll give up on the Rifle skills in place of Doctor's Medicine Knowledge III.

I enjoy the idea of relying on other players for the crafting of my medicines. I play with a friend working up the Master Ranger tree. He should be able to find the Organics and I hope to purchase the required Inorganics. Then, turn over the resources to a Master Doctor for the crafting.

No use of poisons/diseases, as well as minimal crafting abilities granted by reaching Master Medic, but I believe I'll still be able to help heal people and bea desireable group member.

Thanks a ton!!!!!!

Just checking the forums, seeing who else is out there Combat medic/Doctor.

I'm currently a Master Doctor, and just 1 box to go on crafting for Master Combat Medic. The remaining points are in one gun- currently Pistoleer, but I'll have to drop that once I get that last box.

It's a PHENOMENAL combination!

Doctors have enhance packs, that if well crafted can enhance up to 6 stats (the physical ones- no blue) for about 2000 each, for up to *6000* seconds. It takes a considerably amout of work, but it's very nice. Then the Ressucitate ability allows 'ressurect' in battle, and decent wound/disease poison healing. Ok so Doctors are good now...

Combat Medic! Geez, I found out Doctor exp is shared with Combat Medic! It took only 2 days to master three trees in the Combat Medic (all but crafting) since a powerful enhance pack can give 1k exp in one shot. As well, as a Master Doctor I make amazing components used in the Combat Medic meds. I'm a Uber Doctor :-) It's only when mind fails that people get incapped, and I actually prefer they 'die' since I can ressucitate.

So yes, I can highly recommend the two combined. You can sell your high level meds for decent cash, boost your buddies (warning- bugs galore in that, including it's lost when you take a shuttle, so do it right before the hunt/pvp!) range stim them from a distance, or power stim them up close.

Yeah, CM/Doctor, that's me. It is a lot of fun.

It's not "Teh Pwn", but a good combo for someone who likes playing in groups.

the healing is only half the fun though. The poisions/diseases, while broken, are something that I found appealing.

It's nice to have so much control over how much damage you do. To hand craft every damage-pack, to use the best resources. To know that YOUR damage isn't completely dependent on some random number generator. It's dependent on YOU.

They don't do much damage yet, but I think the devs are looking into that.

Hee hee. So there ARE other master docs / CMs out there!

Yeah, I've absolutely loved the combination. Being able to dump your 10 experimentation points into the combat medic components from doctor/medic and THEN using 10 from combat medic/medic on the final poison has been an absolute help for me. I can usually kill things that con as 'instant death' in five or six applications of poison. It takes a while, but it helped me get through a theme park solo. There's also a bleed/disease/poison combination which can be really helpful when targetted against a single stat... as a rifle user I generally target mind.

Some of the most fun has to be throwing poisons through the windows of buildings. For example when your house on Dantooine has a pack of voritor lizards outside... I keep a pile of poison at the door for those occasions.

Ranged stimpacks... so useful for when I can't get close enough to drag the incapped player out of the way! I get around 50 range on mine, which generally is more than enough. Having had CM has made me much more effective in the field.

And of course, doctor comes back in with StimEs for creature heals, rezzes, and the like. I can't wait for the enhancements to be fixed, because I have a pile of advanced components that are ready to see just how high I can boost someone. Mwahahah.

Theoretically, if we could enhance ourselves around 3-4k per stat and had poisons at our disposal, we might be able to take on a good deal of things ourselves. I don't know yet because of the bugs, but ... it'll be an interesting experiment.

All the best.
